  1. Question for anyone willing/able to answer:

Would you write for the LIS series'? I mean, now that Harlequin has bought out Steeple Hill, they just don't seem as good.

  2. Okay.

    • So a little more about me: I get welfare due to my TBI and subsequent issues.
    • I can make $100 a month without being penalized for it.
    • I know it's sinful of me to worry/be concerned about this, but how am I going to write anything that's truly decent and only make that much?  I mean, I've been told I'm good, and I'm hopeful that means exceptional to some degree. But even most contests don't have just $100 as the first or second place prize. I would hope my writing is better than last place.
  3. Well..... so far I'm not coping with it very well. ?
  4. Awesome to meet you! I'm new here, too. Nice to meet you!
  5. *chuckles* TBI-- a part of my life. I'm doing my best to work through it.
  6. Thanks. Not anyone's fault. I suppose you could say I have moments of decent writing, but I doubt that a lot.
  7. Quote

    Never give up! Never surrender!

  8. Understood. And thanks! LOL. That makes sense. I used to sing along all the time. Thankfully, after my TBI my voice lost any inkling of talent. *shrugs* I keep playing a movie I want to apply into the book. Of course, then I get terribly distracted by the bulging muscles of the one actor....
  9. What do you do when writing? Do you listen to music? Do you have the television droning in the background (white noise)? Or do you need absolute silence when writing? To be honest, I'm not sure what works better for me. My brain is messed up, so that could be part of it.
  10. Ah! Thanks a bundle!
  11. Hi. I'm pretty new here. My dad is a pastor and I can tell you directly that a Christian's purpose in life is to live for God. First. That is, not giving in to temptation hoping to change a person. We cannot change a person. We can influence them toward God, but He does the changing. Does that make sense?
  12. Question: When a topic or discussion is closed why does it still appear on the list?

I went into a topic, read the person's opening post and wanted to comment. But what did I find when I attempted to locate the place to type my response? The subject was closed. That has always confuses me.

  13. THANKS!! Oops on not posting to others. Wait. Rules?
  14. Ever since I started writing at the age of 16, I wanted to write stories and books that would not only please God, but that would also help others to give their lives over to Him. Perhaps more fully, or perhaps at all.

Before my TBI I was writing a couple of novels that I thought were going really well. They actually made sense (compared to my writing today). But I was still writing them (slow-going because of school and life) when I had my stint in the hospital and the rehab center.

Writing didn't start up again until I was nearly 24 because I had to learn a bunch of things all over again. The ability to write and use my computer were two of them, but they didn't take me very long to master once I got the hang of them again.

I don't have any of the earlier writing files--though I'm not sure why, because we didn't move out of the house we lived in at the time for quite a while. But I do have some of my old writing either by hand or printed up. I'd just need to actually type them into my new laptop to share. I've been meaning to do that, actually, but haven't gotten around to doing it.

Then there's my writing today. It's a bit different, and because of my memory problems I might forget adding in something very simple. But ... so far my brain refuses to cooperate so I can actually finish something. Even a short story is proving impossible.

  15. Do you maybe remember the book title? Perhaps, if you do, you can google it?
  16. Thank you both!! I really look forward to participating here.
  17. Okay. So what must I do, exactly? Do I just post pretty much anywhere? Should I start a whole new topic for each of my stories/books?
  18. That's all right, @Alley.
  19. @lynnmosher THAT'S ME!! ?
  20. HI. My name is Kendra. I'd introduce myself further but you can probably see more information than you want on my profile. *shrugs* ?
  21. I don't think I went to that discussion yet. I'll do that. Yes, I've made and still make book covers. So far my low prices have gotten me no where... I had to start using a free program because of that. But I've always wanted to be artistic in some way. Drawing and painting and all of those just ... aren't in my wheel house. *shrugs*
  22. Very few? Yes. I think I added my website/blog URL in my profile information.
  23. Oh wow. I found the topic and went in to see what's there. 338 topics! I don't think I'll start a new one. I'm almost 100% certain most of them are far better at making book covers than I am. Nice to know that's a link. I almost clicked on those words to begin with.
  24. Understood. Where can I find Plugs & Promos? Is that a forum discussion?
  25. Z, your comment was humorous to be sure! ? I could tell a couple of jokes, but I don't want to end up being the spam type.
