  1. Ah. I see what you're saying. I was trying to match the red in the water with the titles - and tie them altogether.
  2. Thanks. These were fairly early on after I first obtained Photoshop. They are better-looking than most I had made before getting it. I'm honestly not sure what you mean about the titles not showing. Perhaps I could have added a drop shadow behind the words. It's too late now. I don't have Photoshop any longer and can't alter them without it. *shrugs* Thanks, @HK1
  3. I've thought about reading/watching The Shack, but never have gotten around to it. It's not too available around here, anyway. @HK1, thanks for the warning. I usually watch "Christian" tv or movies assuming they probably won't be too close to the real thing. Except for the Left Behind series starring Kirk Cameron and now Sherwood Pictures.
  4. I wish I could make these show up smaller. I feel as if I'm slapping people by sharing them so big. They're in the wrong order, though. Sorry about that. Oh. I guess they aren't that big after all.
  5. Oh dear! I have some family who lives in Virginia! I wonder why anyone would think these things will benefit us!!
  6. It has only happened a couple of times for me. Unless I'm thinking of another forum I'm on. Then I'm not either. My inner editor keeps banging on the inside of my head so I'll tell you what's wrong with this short sentence. But I shall refrain from doing so. I try not to judge. Also, I'm not going to share my handle because to do that implies I intend to use my Twitter account. I've actually been meaning to get rid of it.
  7. *CRIES*

I keep coming up with ideas for stories/titles, but actually writing them is looking truly impossible!! I'll never spread God's word out - among those willing to read something written by yours truly.

In this case, I think if is another way to say funny.

Don't be discouraged, though I know it's really easy to do.  Your writing is in God's hands, and He's going to use it in His own way.  Maybe that way will help one person or maybe a thousand.  We can't know.  We just have to trust.  :)

Well, I have posted a few short pieces on a forum called booksie.com and most have quite a few "reads". Now, if that means people are reading them.... Hopefully from start to finish, of course.

  8. Wow! This sounds so cool!! I wish you all the best!! I wish I could participate, but I haven't used Twitter much and am not too good at it. Nor do I have anything written ±100%.
  9. Beginning of Rant

When I first started working on making book covers, I discovered a passion I didn't know I possessed. While I've set it aside for quite a while (several months to put it simply) I still think about doing it. I bought and paid for a lot of photos to use, as well as spending money on Photoshop, paying monthly for at least 16 months. And I used it. I even made a few book covers that people wanted--were willing to pay for.

But less people asked for me to make book covers for them. I guess they just didn't want to pay for something they could do themselves. Even if they end up paying a lot more because they have to pay for the photos and the editing program. Unless they use a free one and can do a fair job of it.

I know I'm complaining and I apologize for making anyone who reads this "listen to me do so", but I'd gladly delete the majority of photos on my computer if I hadn't paid for a lot of them. I was just too eager. 😕

    End of Rant (for now)

  10. I do love this song. THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!
  11. I second this entirely.
  12. So, a writer friend of mine on Facebook and I are discussing this. We might write it together. Co-authors of a Christian romance. The two of us. Wow.
  13. A new idea came to mind. It's not something "normal" for a lot of people today. But IMO it's fairly open to any and all who wish to participate. Marriage between a Christian and a non-believer. Except in this story, the Christian resists. What do you think?
  14. Huh. I wonder why it looks different when I click on it this time. Weird. Thanks for giving me this info. As a "thank you", I'll use your name in one of my stories.
  15. 😮 This link didn't really work for me. It just took me to a page where there was a list and the name in larger print--all on the left side.
  16. @lynnmosher, do you mean Johne's first post? That link?
  17. I hadn't thought of sharing the article. Good thinking!
  18. I was told from author friends on my Facebook that it's a vanity publisher. Wait. Did that warning come from here? 😮 😕
  19. Do you think I should post a warning on the other site? Or is that sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong? 😕
  20. thank you for this warning!! I had just seen it advertised on another site I'm a member of and was wondering about it.
  21. Well, I've been hesitant to write in this story (don't ask me why because I don't know). I've even considered an alternative title for it: Dating a Computer. You'd understand better if I would write and get the story moving. Also, this will be a stand-alone title (whether I change it or not). The trilogy just isn't working out. I might change my mind when I've written more, but right now I don't see the trilogy happening. Even though I did come up with a fairly decent title for it. The third book has a title, as well. The second one is giving me some trouble. I'm not exactly sure why.
  22. Has anyone ever heard of Elm Hill Christian Publishing before? I'm wary of it mostly because I've never heard of it - and I do mean never. But also because it's being advertised on a non-christian writing forum.

If I remember correctly, it is a vanity publishing company, and you should run!! @lynnmosher or @Accord64 would be the best to ask.

Kendra, this belongs in the writing forum. But here's a link for you.
