  1. I'm considering that I'll just post my stories chapter-by-chapter on my blogsite and ask for donations if people care to give anything.

    What do you think?

How much traffic does your blogsite get? If it's a reasonable amount it could work well.

  2. I've been putting off hopefully making book covers again for some time. However, I recently purchased a 100 photos/images bundle on depositphoto.com. I have no really idea if I'll actually use all those downloads, but thankfully it was a sale a friend told me about. I hope I didn't waste my money, though.

Are any of you in need of book covers? Or maybe banners of some kind? I don't cost that much. Truly, I don't. (in fact, I've been told I need to ask for more.)

  3. So I'm wanting to write a story about COVID-19 from my point of view (I know, selfish, but I don't know others very well). I'm certain I'll need to do at least some research and interview a few people, but because it'll be from my own POV, it shouldn't be too difficult to write most of it.

I'm still trying to decide on a title for it, since COVID-19 just sounds too short and "boring". Any thoughts/suggestions on this would be awesome.

But I've been putting this project off for a while now. I'm going to write it. For A.O. That's Author Olympics - a group/activity on Facebook that I joined a week or two ago. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it goes. :D

I'm not entirely certain about it. I'm pretty sure it'll be more along the lines of the second alternative. Since faith in God is good in any situation...

I've never been very good at doing research. Even in school when I had the teacher's or someone else's help. But I'm pretty sure I'll be researching several things for this novella. And, of course, there are the others I'm hoping to write.

I did manage to get the prologue for EtS complete last week. One of my friend and fellow writing told me she really liked it. I'm not sure why I've struggled with chapter 1 of the same story, though.

  4. I've tried doing LIVE videos a few times on my Facebook account. However, the most responses to such things I've had is 1 or 2. And I was online for a while just now. I try giving people some heads up, but it's not very easy for me to wait. I asked in my writer group if anyone wants to try one but no one ever answered.

I just don't understand why they can't be courteous enough to tell me so.

      Oh well.

Not to mention the only person you see is the one IN the live video. Oh well.

And sometimes doing things like that is hard. I can write on here while doing other things, but phone calls are almost impossible around here. 😕

      Oh well. I guess I'll live. ^_^

  5. So during this "quarantine" for COVID-19, I'm hoping and planning to get several things accomplished.

    • Writing something from start to finish that's worth getting published.
    • Remaking a number of book covers, though selling them isn't looking very likely. Also, learning Photoshop Elements so they turn out better.
    • Maybe learning more Spanish.
    • Helping Mom with her French. Helping Dad learn Facebook for LIVE videos.
    • Learning to cook/bake (at least moderately).
    • Create/Paint/Artistic endeavors.
    • And a couple of other things.

Basically, I want to make my life so busy I'm surprised when the "quarantine" is lifted.

The book covers....😪....aren't too likely, in actuality. I may own a fantastic program and have several hundred photos saved in various electronic apparatuses, but that doesn't mean I'm very good.

People usually just make their own because they think it's "cheaper". I honestly don't see how that's possible. I mean, they have to pay for the program (if they want a good one), plus the photos/images they use. They also have to spend the time learning the program and how to use it - which takes away from their writing time.

I honestly don't see the appeal. My prices were never that high, anyway.

Oh well. I've wasted money on something I thought for sure would be worth learning to do. 😕 I guess I'll have to stick with making my own. Not that I'll ever use all the photos I have for just mine.

The thing about goals for me is that I set them repeatedly - sometimes lowering my own expectations so they're truly manageable - but rarely do I actually complete them. :(

  6. I'm going to try a craft/hack I've seen done on YouTube numerous times (okay, so it's the same clip, but so what?). I'll let you know how it turns out. ^_^

      KR LaLonde

      Well that's a major disappointment. I don't have transfer paper/tape so that won't work. -_-

  7. I am thinking that - other than not being at TH (like a Dunkin Donuts) or somewhere else other than at home - I'm thinking this being "stuck" at home for days without an end in sight might actually be good for me.

I might actually get so bored I both write something WORTH PUBLISHING and learn something new on YOUTUBE.

  8. WoW. So we just had our first online prayer meeting with Facebook live. I have to say it was very nice to not have to get all dressed up (well, not like I do for Sundays) in order to attend. I have a cold (donut worry, its a REAL COLD, not COVID--19) to be there. It went fairly well. :) More people were able to attend.

Facebook Live is certainly better than nothing. And there were actually a few people there who usually aren't.

    3. Alley

I understand that. As a fulltime caregiver, it's hard to go. Worse is that when you do, everyone makes you feel bad for being gone so long, or acts like they don't even know you. It makes going even harder, which is really sad.

😃 @lynnmosher had an awesome newsletter all about this today!

Awww, thank you, sweetie! 🧡 Here's one verse...

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7 NKJV)

      Psalm 46

  10. While the entire planet faces tragedy, we must always remember that God is on our side.

  11. So. Friday at 1pm. It's not like I have anything better to do. 😮 ^_^

  12. I would say she means our characters interacting with one another. ^_^
  13. Meaning Eastern Time , right?
  14. I feel like such a failure. Writing's not going well. Making book covers is pretty much at a stand-still (I don't know why I bought PS Elements recently). Craft "projects" are only so-so. 😢 😢 😢

  15. So I'm downloading a trial version of a photo-editing program that's taking a while (it's a BIG program). I can hardly wait to start using it. I'm hoping and planning to BUY it in the next month or so.

I'm wondering, too, if any of you have need of a book cover or two? I can make and sell them for less than $10 if that works.

"I have an "itch" to create" we all do!

"It's too bad more people aren't willing to buy book covers" You just have to get the word out.

Well, I've sold a few in the past. But even the people who promised to come back haven't. And my inexpensive prices are getting lower.

Maybe I'm just not good enough to "hire".

    4. KR LaLonde

      KR LaLonde

It's not a normal "itch" for me (I don't think). It has to do with art!! I've never been very artistic, yet I keep buying things I think I can decorate for people. I keep wanting to try hacks I've seen in clips on YouTube.

  16. I'm glad someone else understands, @PenName. I'm still thinking about maybe getting rid of it altogether, though. I'll admit, though... I'm not thinking about it anymore than before.
  17. I'm sorry to keep asking questions I should probably know the answers to but I don't remember what publishing credits are?

  18. Twitter?

  19. If only writing flash fiction was something I could do with ease. I can't even force myself to do it.

  20. I forgot what winning the day means...

  21. After #someone mentioned Twitter yesterday, I made "excuses" about not going there. Marketing isn't necessary, since writing probably isn't going to happen. Anyway, I'm #back on Twitter. It's actually open in another window right now. -_-

  22. Wonderful. 😮 All this talk of Twitter has me in my account there again. Right now. What I'm doing here I don't really know.
  23. I seriously doubt more will happen. I've had an account for ages, but I don't post so I'm fairly certain most of my "peeps" there are long gone. But I guess it'd be worth a shot. Maybe. We'll see.
  24. I'm so strange--yes, even I think so.

I have this fear of someone stealing my writing from me. I'm somewhat paranoid about posting things online. But I post things on Facebook and on here; I've written things on a couple of other writing forums, also. So obviously I'm not as afraid as I once was. But I still think about and wonder who would actually take something I've composed/written and claim it as their own.

The Internet is the Internet, after all. Right?

    😕 😞 😱

That is always a problem when you go to a website that you are not familiar with.

  25. I completely second her reaction to that!! Welcome and Greetings and WOW!!
