  1. Well done! Those are powerful images and your rhythm is compelling. I also look forward to the rest!
  2. I never get tired of watching that cake! Thank you Alley!
  3. Good to see you @zx1ninja! We are comforted so that we may comfort. 2 Cor 1:4 Shamrock, you can believe Z, and me, and these others. We been der and done dat and have the community to prove it!
  4. https://www.wishfulendings.com/2020/04/check-out-q-with-author-dove-strong-by.html SW, from this interview I think she would be a great addition to your series!
  5. https://www.erinlorence.com/ You can ask her. I would love to read what you ask her!
  6. This is an exciting Christian Dystopian series I spent the winter narrating. Dove Strong Book 1 Dove Strong loves God. She loves standing chin up and fists clenched when facing Satan's attacks. But there's one thing she doesn't love - other people. So when this spiritually-gifted, antisocial teenager is chosen to join other believers in a trek across Satan's territory, rattlesnakes and evil-intentioned Heathen aren't her biggest challenges. But failure isn't an option. In a month, the Christian Councils will decide the Reclaim, a vote on whether there'll be a war betwee
  7. It's an awesome book. I am very impressed and I'm going to write reviews where I can.
  8. Ditto. We should not be the judges of our own work. Community is the answer and I'm glad you reached out.
  9. Are your groups full? I can go in the second group! You helped me with my story so I'd like to return your kindness! (OK, I also want to know about the angry horse)
  10. This is a terrific story! It has everything a writer would want in a story, so readers will be happy without knowing the crafterly details! Great Job, Michaiah!
  11. My heart goes out to you. Do we write the easier book for ourselves? Or is God calling you to write the really hard one? How do we make the edgy redemptive? You must examine your heart. Think about your history with abuse, if you have one. Think about your family. Talk to a psychologist. Go in with your eyes wide open and stocks in a tissue company. And then you can consider what words to use! I am excited that you received good feedback at the Critique Forum! Keep working hard at your craft as you find how God's heart lies with this profound idea.
  12. I think this would be a very hard book to write. There would be much research involved and much sensitivity required. Too many people have experienced this abuse to tread lightly. I am happy to hear of the redemptive theme in your idea! You will give victims and their families great hope that God brings good out of evil and never leaves His children in distress. Why don't you start writing, no matter how bad the actual writing seems. Be encouraged, most of us started with a burning urge and manuscripts we burned later. This is a craft, a skill that is learned and, may I say, you ha
  13. https://micandpen.com/2020/06/15/collaboration-an-interview-with-ron-grasmick/ Following in the brilliant footsteps of SuspenseWriter, I did an interview with our dear member aka Zx1Ninja with links to his books. This interview thing is great fun! Thank you for the idea, SW, and thank you for sharing.
  14. Wow, Alley! You're great with the GIFs! That melted chocolate looks delicious!
  15. Interview with Ferrel D. Moore Come one, come all! To return the favour and spread the news of his awesomeness, I have posted an interview with our own SW!
  16. ADD is a gift! I say so who has it! All learning disabilities are gifts if we give them time to mature. I see them as ways I don't fit into the mold, and that makes me happy. Modern Mozart? Hmmmm, Modern Mozart
  17. Well who'da thunk we could get a musical education amid our writing advice? I am a musician by trade. I cultivate all types of music in my brain, but I do have my favourites. Have you heard of the Mozart Effect ? I cannot listen to fugues or even gregorian chant while driving. There is too much going on. So I've never tried listening while writing.
  18. That sums my why too. Since I started, I have discovered that writers are special people who see the world more deeply than non writers. They are also more compassionate and attuned to human longings. I like belonging to their tribe!
  19. I don't like any social media, except here. Even here I have social stuttering. There's a reason I chose work that required a closet. (Audiobook production).
  20. New headshot taken by my daughter!  She attended school to learn how and I think it paid off!

  22. Rebecca! This sounds fantastic. Sign me up! And Alley! What great questions! I am not able to add anything to the discussion. It all sounds brilliant to me. I like the point system because it separates people from their money more gently! I think you will find they spend more because they are in a 'gaming' mind frame. If you used the 'direct to author' frame, would authors pay you a membership fee to share the profit with you? You must get something for all your hard work and genius.
  23. Hello Alexander!  Welcome to the club.  Are you a NanoWrimo veteran?  What do you write?
