I've one on a no carbohydrate diet, since carbohydrates convert directly to sugar. Since I did that I haven't had to inject any insulin. I just take metformin tablets twice daily and I don't even need those anymore. I can't understand why anyone would object to that because the benefits are tremendous, but I guess some do. Now my blood sugar fluctuates between 95 and 130 and that's as high as it gets. My wife found Dennis Pollack's Beat Diabetes ministry on YouTube and asked me to watch it, and I'll be darned if it didn't change my life. I gave up the Humalog injections after every meal and the Lantus injection one per night and just went to Metformin tablets twice a day, but I really don't even need that because my blood sugar doesn't go high anymore. It's been pretty cool- so maybe I'll just eat a pretend doughnut!

You know you don't have to eat the whole thing. One or two bites could be fit into your menu. That or inject a little more insulin like my mom did.

Too bad the media didn't give this more attention. It would've been a welcome relief from the deeply disturbing stories they've been covering lately.

LOL Yeah, I posted on FB about it but forgot to do it here. Several places were giving away a donut and some required a drink purchase. I love the reason why this day was enacted. It was created in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the women who served donuts to the soldiers in World War I.

I came across this prayer this morning and it made me think of you all and the community you have built here, so I wanted to share it with you. I found it in Scott McElroy's Finding Divine Inspiration but he quotes it as being from Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. O Great Creator We are gathered together in your name That we may be of greater service to you And to our fellows. We offer ourselves to you as instruments. We open ourselves to your creativity in our lives. We surrender our old ideas. We welcome your new and more expansive ideas. We trust that you will lead us. We trust that it is safe to follow you. We know you created us and creativity Is your nature and our own. We ask you to unfold our lives According to your plan, not our low self worth. Help us to believe that it is not too late And that we are not too small or too flawed To be healed - By you and through each other - and made whole. Help us to love one another, To nurture each others unfolding, To encourage each others growth, And to understand each others fears. Help us to know that we are not alone, That we are loved and lovable. Help us to create as an act of worship to you.

This all assumes one can actually read the writing afterwards. I literally cannot spell unless I see it typed on a monitor. A handwritten page from me would look like one of those Old English manuscripts during a seizure.

Hi! I am an avid reader of all things science-fiction and fantasy (ADORE Tolkien and C.S. Lewis's writing) with a passion for illustration and design. Although I write some poetry and short stories, my strength lies in illustrating books for other authors. You can check out some of my work on https://www.behance.net/danielleduring. My portfolio is constantly growing and expanding so be sure to follow me for updates :) I am excited to connect with other Christian creatives to read and share all things wonderful and inspiring!

English actually has a large number of subtly different words for bodies of water and flowing water because England is extremely wet and has a lot of different types of aquatic environments. Try looking up synonyms of "brook" sometime just to get some fun ones. And, those are all just things smaller than a river.

Genesis states our God given functional purpose (what He intended us to do). (I might be paraphrasing a word or two) "Go forth, be fruitful and multiply. Rule over the earth and subdue it." An aspect that is often overlooked when trying to understand this command is where it was given. Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, the dwelling place of God on earth. There, God walked with them in the cool of the mornings. They had direct fellowship and communion with HIm. But, the Garden of Eden has very clearly delineated boundaries in Scripture. God had self-limited His dwelling place on the earth. But, He commanded Man to go out and bring the whole earth into submission, that is to make it like Eden already was. Look in the Lord's Prayer. "Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." Heaven is God's dwelling place for now, but we are supposed to be praying for the earth to become God's dwelling place again, but not limited this time. This next time, it is going to be the whole earth that becomes God's dwelling place. Check out the last couple chapters of Revelation to see how awesome that looks. And, we get to participate in this whole process all along! Our work is to reclaim lost territory from the Kingdom of Darkness for the Kingdom of Light by following our Lord and Savior's example, commandments, and directions. I'm not saying we are doing this by ourselves or anything, but we are doing things in our Father's name. It comes back to the idea of being heirs of God and children of God. I'm gonna do a bunch of research and write my next sermon on these ideas.

Hi, my name's Jamie. I've been writing off and on since high school, and recently felt the pull to become more disciplined in it. I've taken some classes and had a few articles published over the years, but let myself get too distracted to actually finish most of the project ideas that have been piling up. All this extra free time so many of us are having seems like the perfect time to start. I'm hoping to meet some people on here who can critique, motivate, and inspire me, and hopefully I can do the same for you ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Hi! My name is Regina Walker. I have loved Jesus for many years and I have been a writer for even more years. I have felt very called to write on more than one occasion and have abandoned the calling nearly as many times. I am working hard to obey the Lord and write for His glory. I blog, and I also have a debut novel releasing next month. While this isn't the first book I've started, and it is the second book I've drafted, it will be the first book I've completed and shared with the public. I am both excited and scared to death. I found christianwriters.com on a Goodreads discussion and thought I should check it out. I am excited to be here. In Him, Regina Walker reginawalkerauthor.com

Really? What's his blood sugar after eating the donut?
  34. 1 point
LOL Good one, Alley! You said that right, Accord! ๐Ÿ‘ SW, actually, one donut won't hurt. Just eat some protein with it. Hubs is diabetic also. Treating yourself to a tasty morsel once in a while is okay. Just not every day!

There are only 2 seas in ancient Israel, and I'm pretty sure the Dead Sea didn't have any fish at that point. But the salinity of the Dead Sea? There's so much salt in it that you and I could almost walk on water. Edit: Of course, there is always the Mediterranean sea.
