BE STRONG IN THE LORD Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (Ephesians 6: 10-19) BEATITUDES Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. THE COMING OF THE LORD “Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. “According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. Therefore encourage each other with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) THE WRATH OF GOD “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the Immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6: 25-34) I SHOW YOU A MYSTERY Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up by victory. Oh death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:43-48) "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:17-21) I WAITED PATIENTLY I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to usward: they cannot be reckoned up in order to thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering though didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened; burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou are my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. (Psalms 40: 1-17) GODLY LOVE If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13) YOU HAVE SEARCHED ME AND KNOW ME Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there you hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men! They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm: 139) THE GLORY OF GOD The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes it circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By keeping them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19) A JOYFUL NOISE Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people , and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100)

  4. Inheriting the Earth and Seeing God "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." (Matthew 5: 5.) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5: 8.) The meek and the pure at heart shall inherit the Earth, and see God? That's what Jesus said, but is that practical or is that even possible? If it's not, what's the point of trying? What did Jesus mean by "meek"? Did He mean being wimpy? Giving in to everything and everyone, even when it's against our own best interests; just to keep from getting harmed or into trouble? I remember when I was a small child. My mother was always telling me, "I'll tell Daddy when he gets home." I think I was seven years old, when I made the mistake of replying, "Oh, you always say you're gonna tell him, but you never do!" I learned something very important from that. I learned to keep my mouth shut. It's true that there is a time to speak, if you can accomplish something positive. Other than that, if it's just going to make things worse for yourself and maybe for others, it's better to say nothing. I believe that is part of being meek. I remember reading an article once, by a man who'd read that passage in a French Bible. The word used for "meek" in the French Bible was "debonair". The "debonair" shall inherit the Earth? I mentioned this to a woman at my Church once. She laughed. "Cary Grant shall inherit the Earth?" Cary Grant? How about James Bond? Shall 007 inherit the Earth? He is definitely what the English word "debonair" means; but "The world is not enough"? James Bond definitely does not fit the English definition of "meek". I think the original French definition must be very different from what the word has come to mean in English. In French, "debonair" is a compound word. The syllables put together literately mean, "Of-Good-Air"; or "of-good-breath". In the Bible the word "breath" is a synonym for "spirit". Could that mean "Blessed are those with a healthy spirit"? "Those with a healthy spirit shall inherit the Earth"? That sounds right. Now what does it mean to "inherit the Earth"? Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot, and the people who crashed airplanes into the World Trade Center, and now members of Isis, were and are all men of unhealthy spirit, who tried or are trying to seize the Earth, or parts of the Earth; and they lost or will lose everything they had, or have. They've caused suffering to many different peoples, and the world has never fully recovered from them; and what is their inheritance? People sing "Ding-Dong, the Witch is Dead!" None of them have, or will have inherited the Earth. What does it mean to inherit the Earth? A former pastor of my Church and his wife, have two teenage daughters of their own. They've also adopted two younger children, around 5 or 6 years old, who both have Downs Syndrome. Can you imagine that? How many people would actually choose to take on such a task? Raising children without special needs is difficult enough. Before anyone volunteers to adopt children with Downs Syndrome, he has to ask himself, "Have I got the ability to handle everything that's involved?" Many good hearted people, with a healthy spirit, would have to say "No, I do not." However, my former pastor, his wife and older daughters all do have the ability. In this I think I see what the Bible means by "meekness". Now what is their inheritance? The two young children will be raised in a home where they are loved; and all who hear about this will think well of every member of that family. What better inheritance is there? Now what about "The pure in heart shall see God"? What does it mean to "...see God"? To look upon His full Glory? That is a mystery, far beyond full human understanding; but we can understand it in part. When we use the term, "I see" we mean "I understand". Could it mean that the pure in heart shall understand God? What does it mean to be pure in heart? According to Christian teaching, it means having our lives cleansed of the sins that stand as barriers between us and God; so what the entire verse means, is that those who are cleansed of sin, will understand as much about God, as they are able. Now how do we get cleansed of sin? According to 1 John: 6-9: "If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

  6. The Minor Works of God by William D'Andrea Simple acts of kindness can be of great importance in the eyes of God. Here is a copy of an article I wrote, that was printed in October 2009, in the Congregational Newsletter of the First Presbyterian Church Of Greenlawn, Long Island, New York, where I am a member. xxxxxxxxxx The Bible is filled with tales concerning the Mighty Works of God that were accomplished by the Mighty Men of God. They were men of great faith and courage, like Moses. However, Moses was a reluctant prophet, who did not at first believe that he'd have the ability to accomplish the great things that the Lord had set before him. Yet through faith and the power of the Lord, he accomplished greater things than he could have ever imagined. Now those were Mighty Acts of God, but what about the minor works of God; everyday things that ordinary Christians like ourselves can do? They can also be of great importance in the eyes of God. Back in August, I was in Deer Park, taking care of some personal business. When that was completed, I went over to the Deer Park Train Station. While I waited for a train, I spoke with a woman who was having serious health problems and other difficulties in her life; and she was deeply distressed by them. I asked her, "Would you like me to have the people of my Church pray for you?" She was pleasantly surprised, and very agreeable, and she thanked me. I remembered that I had a small booklet in the pocket of my jacket. It was a study guide that we'd recently used during the Friday Morning Bible Study, regarding how to deal with stressful situations. I took the booklet out of my pocket, gave it to the woman, and she thanked me again. I regard that as a minor work of one of God's people. It didn't take great faith, courage, knowledge of Scripture, skill or anything else that most people would consider impressive. All I had to do was reach in my pocket, take out a booklet that I would probably have never looked at again, and hand it to the distressed woman. When the train arrived, I rode it one stop to Wyandanch. From there I took the bus to the Walt Whitman Shopping Center. As the bus was coming, a woman who was also waiting for it said, "Does anyone have a nickel?" I took the change out of my pocket. I saw that I did have a nickel to spare, and I gave it to her. That was also a minor work of one of God's people. It took no special effort, and all it cost me was five cents. The following morning, I took my clothes to a local Laundromat. While I was there, an elderly lady lost the lid to her large container of liquid soap. The lid was lying on a shelf, between the backs of two washing machines; too far to reach by hand. I looked around, and found a broom. Then I stuck the end of the broomstick, inside the lid, lifted it up and returned it to the lady. She started telling me how wonderful I was, and I made a joke about it. I laughed, "Does this make me a hero?" She said, "Oh, but you are a hero." As I've said, these were simple acts that took no great faith, courage, wisdom, skill or knowledge of Scripture. All it took, was me just happening to be there, to do simple acts that anyone could do, and all it cost me was one nickel. While none of us may be called upon to take part in a Mighty Act of God, we can all be available to do minor acts; everyday things that anyone can do, to bring a blessing from the Lord, to someone who needs it.   9. If my husband and I did not allow God to take over or lives and stop making our own messy decisions in our marriage, we would not be together to this day. Our life would be totally different. Our marriage was full of cheating, lies, stealing, drugs. Because of God we changed. We are not defined by our past. Because of God's Grace, we have been forgiven. We now mentor to other couples struggling through similar situations and host a bi-weekly couples bible study through our church. God allowed us to continue down our path because He knew that it would bring us closer to Him. He had bigger plans for us. We are joyful and blessed.
  10. In short, I grew up atheist, my husband Catholic. My husband lost his way and got into Meth. Both he and I throughout the first 14 years of our marriage (and before we got married) cheated, and partied bringing others into our bedroom. We broke every vow. I found God when I needed to change and he wasn't ready. I couldn't stay in a marriage to an abusive Meth Addict. Because of God we celebrated our 27 year anniversary in May 2020. He has been clean since September of 2007. We now have a joyful marriage and happy kids!

Before I return to make a few comments on your post, I note lynmosher's experience to be a great confirmation that, life or death should not separate us from the love of Christ. His own love for us could not be separated by the pain of His crucifixion for our (not His) sins. Rather, it reinforced and confirmed that great love. So, we are learning to love Him, not even because we are healed, but first and foremost, because He first loved us while we were yet sinners! As Donald James rightly observed, "beautiful...." to Lyn's sharing which indicates a proven love for Jesus, regardless of his infirmity. Your sharing, supported by Lyn's, helps fellow pilgrims in Christ to be encouraged: "knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:9). This means for us all to continue to "resist steadfast in the faith" because the person behind our fallen Adamic nature and experiences ("we live in a fallen world" - Lyn) is not God but our "adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about...." (1 Peter 5:8). So, hey, Lucian, we put the blame where it primarily belongs and set ourselves free, as Believers, to keep loving our Saviour and Lord Jesus, while resisting the adversary, satan. Also not forgetting the truth: It took Abraham 25 years to obtain the promise. Thus, the manifestation of a healing or miracle as the Gospels indicate, may be (1) instant or (2) occur someday, suddenly, or (3) slowly but surely, like Abraham's. You said: "So I walk everyday in my healing no matter how my body feels...". You are certainly pleasing the Lord. It's not just receiving the healing that matters to Jesus but that kind of faith that, even when we have not seen (the manifestation of the healing), we are still there hoping against hope (Rom 4:18). Jesus said, "Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed..." John 20:29.

Shall we ever be free and delivered from the failed political system of the age without knowing the truth, loving the truth and speaking the truth to power? It is worth noting that the trend rightly described by the Weekly Word is the rise of Populism. History shows that this cultural process occurs where there has been a failure of contemporary political leadership to deliver on its promises for equity, justice, service and prosperity for the people. However, the process that cleans up the ‘Augean Stable’ begins when the people of conscience around power speak truth to power, in lieu of which, the Church, as the custodian of truth, must rise and speak truth to power across all nations. Although, that role will be a diluted and impossible task until the Church remains or becomes apolitical. For, as Church history shows, when the Church takes side with a political party, it does, ipso facto, lose its power to speak truth to power. Its members must be encouraged to get involved politically. Nevertheless, the Church must not be involved as an entity with a Church or block vote, nor be politically affiliated and then expect to be respected as the voice of truth.

  16. I have had fibromyalgia for 20 years plus an assortment of other physical ailments. The Lord has allowed this for whatever reason. Mainly because I live in a fallen world and these ailments cannot always be avoided. My job is to learn whatever lessons the Lord would like to share with me through it all and to praise Him every single day that things are not worse and that He loves me. I stand on His Word that my heart, soul, and spirit are His and that is the most important thing in life. My body will fade and disappear one day but my spirit will live on. He delights in me because I am His. We may never know His reasons for allowing certain things to take place in our lives but we should never forget that He does so for our good. "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

  18. I have couple physical issues that I deal with and it can be come overwhelming sometimes but I know that it will not always be like this. I can remember having a conversation with my savior and I said to him I am not sure what is going on in my body but I know you will take care of me. I can remember going in and out of hospitals and having lots of medication having many mixture of things going on in my body but they could not pin point the causes. Some days were harder than others being so exhausted that all I wanted to do was sleep. Going outside and doing daily chores were beginning be to much for me. So I cried and cried out to him constantly that this is touch much I can't I don't have energy please help me. Jesus I am tired I know have to continue pushing and trusting God in spite of my pain. So what I did was call out to him and say if its your will me endure this I will but give me strength to get through it. I just want you get glory out of my life so I will go through no matter how much it hurts Jesus I know that you help me and carry when I need to be carried. By his stripes I am healed and whole because your word says that I am I know your word be true... So I walk everyday in my healing know matter how my body feels because I am healed.
  19. I believe now more then every that Jesus came into the world because he wanted to make us free and that where he is we can also be with him. Jesus had so much love and devotion to doing what his father asked of him, thats not say that it was not love that drove him to cross for us. He had a set purpose on this earth and he did what he was sent here to do. Jesus became my savior my friend my everything not because of his miracles but because of his love for me. Every time that I am unable to sleep cause of physical pain he comes and he meets with me and comforts me and talks to me encourages me. Jesus came that I can be free and come into relationship with him that I can be where he is. free from bondage and lies Satan has put on us, free from sickness and diseases free from all darkness. No shackles No more bondage I am Free to live for you. I will live even though I die because of you Jesus. I will not be judged because I believe in you Jesus Christ.   20. A Word For The USA Church (Continued Here As Part B): The Church Must Remain Apolitical To Be Effective In Speaking Truth To Power. Note: The topic of the message remains 'As Is' with the title above in both parts. Nothing of Covid-19 was implied there nor here. Part B: Talking About God Using A Donkey To Do His Sovereign Work: Here Comes The God-Pig! When God used a donkey to do His sovereign work, the donkey prophesied with a man’s voice (Num 22:21-38). Make no mistake: that was not a man prophesying with a donkey’s voice (I know, you would have loved to see that one too!). We are talking about a donkey speaking from God with a man’s voice. That’s right. Just leave it as God would have it. Don’t add, don’t subtract, don’t’ bend it to suit your fantasies, and then miss the end of the miracle or the finals of what God had started for His own glory. Thinking about this … if that were to happen in this day and age. Just imagine …and let’s have a lighter mood before we get serious: If God were to use a pig to do His sovereign miracle-work today, as He did with the donkey in the days of Balaam. I guess, some Christians would have jumped over themselves ecstatic, and put some red lipstick on the pig straightway. They would have flown the pig in a private Jet and taken her over for shopping at Harrods in London. Wear her some expensive red high-heel shoes, some blue mufflers, and a red hat, and turn around and say to the world, see, the pig that God used has just won a beauty contest! Some of those Christians would have turned around and said to the Australian Church: The pig is actually a good Christian. Invite her to preach in your Church. Then, try hard to validate that, like: She was saved by the Salvation Army, baptized by the Baptists, had communion with the Catholics, and some other Evangelicals and Pentecostals have raised the offering to fly her around to help God finish the work He started. Yes, to help God finish the work that He started. Nothing else but our shame before God. We shall repent! We just won’t let God finish what God alone started. We jump on the bandwagon and try to finish what God started with our fleshly and un-Godly wisdom. The Bible shows that whenever man takes over what God alone started, God abandons the Move midway (2 Samuel 6; Acts 27; Jonah 3 & 4)). Humans hijack God’s choice and plan and do crazy things like David did: move the ark (which was God’s will) but on a modern cart (man’s ways), or make a movie to show the God-pig was chosen of God. So, on the way to getting an Isaac, we do God’s thing our way and wind up with an Ishmael (Gen 16). Thereby, allowing thirteen years of delay in getting an Isaac (13 years of divine silence between the end of Gen 16:16 where Abraham and Sarah had Ishmael and 17:1 where God got them back on track). Then, we wonder, did not God say He chose that pig and ordained that Isaac (Gen 12)? Yes, He did, but we did our own fleshly thing with 'Hagar', to try to help God, pandering and sucking up to the donkey or pig as the case may be. We would rather please the pig than please God, the vessel rather than the Maker. So, we fail to speak truth to power all because we do not speak truth to ourselves. All the time this happens in Church history, God turns around and uses the unbelievers to speak truth to the Church! Do we need a Daniel to read the handwriting on the wall? The way forward occurred in Gen 17:1. God rebuked Abraham, “walk thou before me and be thou perfect” (no excuses, no compromises). All the talk of ’we’re just human; no one is perfect’; all that trash. God says, do it as I say do!. God says, if you want me to do it, do it my way. Abraham got it. He went on his face, repenting (verse 3). Lord, we are now repenting and should be repenting! He came through for Abraham, Isaac came, in God’s own time. Even though it tarries, wait for it. It shall surely come, and He that shall come shall surely come. Come, Lord Jesus, the only Chosen One that was, and is, and is to come!
  21. Examples: When God Used King Cyrus And Emperor Constantine. God, in His sovereignty, can use a believer, the unbeliever, the donkey (as with Balaam), the bird (as with Elijah), or the very stones (as with the kids holding their peace, Lk 19:37). Whenever God uses the 'un-Godly' sovereignly to do His will, if God's people interfere, God backs off. (By the un-Godly is meant those God expressly chooses to use over a nation even though they may not be Godly. By interference is meant what follows). Every time God sovereignly chooses to use the un-Godly for His greater purpose, God's people, as the Body of Christ, must never praise and justify the evil ways of that un-Godly leader, nor shut their eyes and mouth, as though helping God to do what He alone can do. The Church must forever remain 'the pillar and the ground of the truth' (1 Tim 3:15); always speaking truth to power, and never let the 'gifts' of reversing 'their persecutions' to blind its Godly eyes and shut its prophetic voice. If the Church closes its eyes and mouth while lies are exalted in leadership, good is called evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20), then woe betides the future of the nation, for then justice stands afar off, truth is fallen in the streets and equity cannot enter the nation (Isaiah 59:14). When the Church began praising Constantine for reversing the persecution of Christians, God backed off. It led to 1000 years of darkness: 500-1500 AD, until Martin Luther's call for repentance, and ultimately, reformation in the 1500s. Israel never praised, celebrated nor defended Cyrus (Isaiah 45) in his un-Godliness when God used him for Israel. If they had defended his evil deeds or exalted Cyrus as their new "god", God would have backed off. His glory will He share with no one, not least the un-Godly. (The same thing happens when God punishes the wicked and the Godly starts rejoicing at the fall of the wicked, God backs off). We call for prayers for the future of America's peace, progress, and global evangelization task. The world has been blessed by the USA. Let the world stand strong with the USA in prayers and supplications for all the saints and the future of the nation, in Jesus' name!

The Holy Spirit is the one that convicts us of sin while yet sinners in the world (John 16:8) and works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Phil 2:13). I just love testimonies of what God did and is doing today. Even more, when the bits and pieces of those testimonies bring the Scripture alive. So has yours, Donna.
