Sovereignty was once as seamless as a breath,
until Adam exhaled his own desire,
as if all that God had said could not fulfill.
Too late then, too late now, caught as liar.
Falsely thinking that God was not enough,
this the seed of wanting something more,
as if the universe had failed to signal hope
that each moment in the infinite is sure.
Jesus, bridge from fallenness to full,
spanning over the chasm between the Call
and our sin which grapples to keep blind
every eye from seeing God's design.
Sovereignty is now for us sensational knowledge
from which the Father dispenses healing grace.
Lean on His lovingkindness to belong,
understand His will is our will to embrace.
