The Ransomer

(after reading Matthew 20:26-34.  Note how this Scripture narrative describes activity at Jericho)*

The risen Ransomer is with us!

How easy to give God his due!

Caesar, an outside reminder,

Yeshua, Companion we know. **

“Aware of God” is much like saying,

“I sense a dad and a mum.”

Adoption, as real as creation,***

moves doubt’s mountain-imaginations.^

We’ve yelled, “Son of David, have mercy!”,

been trumpets for a Jericho march. ^^

We’re glad that reliance breaks silence, ^^^

Lord, You tore down our blindness to impart

sight to our eyes and our living,

for holy ground feet, heel and arch, +

everywhere we walk receiving

mercies from a Ransomer’s heart. ++
