All you need to know about life!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.” (NKJV)”

Ponder:

“For God so loved the world…”

In the beginning, God created the heavens, the earth, and man. God’s plan was for man to enjoy His creation. God loved man. God did not want man to be an automaton, living a life which God had programmed; God wanted man to enjoy His creations and be thankful to God for his place in God’s world. God was pleased with the world.

Personalize:

Life can be most delightful. I sometimes wake up in the mornings and realize I have an entire day with the potential to do as I please, satisfy my desires and enjoy Arizona sunshine. It does not occur to me as often as it should, to thank God for this beautiful environment. Or, to thank God that I woke up, have all the necessities of life, can take care of myself, and my body is mostly pain-free.

Ponder:

“…He gave His only begotten Son…”

Man took the freedom of choice given by God and made bad decisions. Decisions resulting in a separation from God the Father. This would result in man’s destruction and an eternity in hell. God could not allow that to happen to His creation. So, God gave the doomed world His very best, His only son, for no other reason than out of His love for His creation. Wow! Best Christmas present ever! God has been showing man His love through various covenants until now when He presents His ultimate Gift in Jesus Christ!

Personalize:

Some would debate “original sin”, but we are sinners when we compare our lives to the life God outlines for us in the Bible. Because of Jesus Christ, we who deserve nothing can be brought into the same relationship with God as His Son enjoys. Think of that! We are sons just like Jesus is a son! God loves us just like he loves Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God by nature and obedience; we are sons of God by grace and adoption. The world man inhabits is dark and hopeless without this gift of redemption.

Ponder:

“…that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.”

Whoever!! This does mean no one is excluded if they believe. This is the all-encompassing promise from God showing us His love for His creation. It is easy for us sinners to think we have wandered so far from God that He would have no interest in our eternal souls. But this verse tells us that is wrong. This tells us that if we will believe, no matter our past, we can spend eternity with God in Heaven.

Personalize:

Upon reliving my past, it occurs to me that I ignored God in favor of doing “my thing” and enjoying my life. This, until, you know that point, life’s problems seemed to be larger than I could handle on my own. When I ran headfirst into the wall of reality, resulting in a headache that with each throb was telling me I needed help. Enter the God of my youth.

My parents took me to church most Sundays and sometimes I went to Bible study but not with much enthusiasm. The benefit of this was that the seed had been planted, unbeknownst to me, I had learned enough to provide direction when doing my own thing produced disasters. Believing in our Lord Jesus Christ, turning our lives over to Him, taking His yoke upon our shoulders (doing His thing instead of our thing), and enjoying rest in His ways, leads us to eternal life in His presence.

Try it.

Your life will forever be altered and improved, you will not be facing your problems alone. Believing in Jesus puts the burdens of life into perspective and we can rest in His ways knowing “…all things work for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

(Please critique my writing; I am striving to improve. Thank you!)

All you need to know about life and you started out with no better verse then John 3:16!

I like how you start out then add the ponder to go more into it, and then added personalize to add your lifes take on it too.

When your parents took you to church,  I believe most kids are not enthusiastic about that.

But you are right it plants a seed and hopefully grows awith time.

jonjovi, I am sorry it has taken so long to respond to your comment!

Thank you so much for reading my post and your thoughtful comments. It took me a long time to understand the love of God and I hope others will discover it at a much earlier age.
