Broken Heart

By Henry Korsah

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

I would like to say dealing with a broken heart is not easy. It can be caused by a loved one passing away, breaking up with someone, past trauma from relationships with family, trauma from relationships and rejection etc. I do not know if you have experienced anything I listed or something else. Maybe, you have been blessed by not experiencing a broken heart, you can still share or use this to encourage someone.

I would like to say meditating on Psalm 147: 3 can be very useful, I feel like it is important to remind yourself that it says in his word in Isaiah 41: 10…

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

No matter what always look to God because he will always take care of you. Do not be afraid because this is just a season that you are in; you will overcome this season. I would advise that you play a banging gospel playlist, pray, and do anything to take your mind off things. Focus on the presence of God and experience the fullness of joy.

It is always important to remember he is the Lord that heals you, whether it is emotional or physical; he will always be by your side.

Dealing with heartbreak is not easy, it forces a lot of change to take place. It can be removing certain memories from your life, deleting their social media, their numbers. However, it can also be working on restoration to provide peace for yourself and the people around you. It may not be easy but God is your strength. To heal from a broken heart you will need to forgive the people that may have wronged you. Although, they may have done the most disgusting or hurtful things to you. For you to be forgiven by God, you must forgive others.

Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Even though, you may have forgiven the person it does not mean you have to stay connected with the person. It is important to pray that if it is God’s will for that person to stay in your life, let them remain but if not, for God to remove them.

I would like to give you a final verse

Matthew 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Let us all draw to Jesus and he will provide rest for us.
