Jesus, set apart from sinners,
by the love with which He touched us first, has now ascended as High Priest, although thoroughly acquainted with our fallenness, to be presented before Abba.
He who knew no sin knew us well,
so much so that we jostled Him
with questions the apostles lacked.
As with Zacchaeus, He took us home
and openly befriended.

Among the many Bible phrases in the English language which emphasize God's eternal being, one that stands
