Outreach Guilt

There are many Christians that are carrying about a self-imposed guilt.  They feel guilty that they have never led anyone to a salvation experience.  Thinking they have failed the Lord, they revert to personal judgement, which affects their Christian walk.  Years ago, many churches were involved in a movement known as the Evangelism Explosion.  The purpose of that program was to reach as many people for Jesus Christ as possible.  Tracts and pamphlets were fast tracked to churches.  Teams of “sou

Currents of Life

The poem below, after musing about these passages from the Scriptures:     Psalms 11:1, 7 1 In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain...?" 7 For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face. & Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. The eagle

Cease Fire!

I surrender.   My nerves can take no more. Ever feel this way?    The early disciples knew this feeling well. Persecuted by their own people, the dominant religion, and the oppressive government. The apostle Paul was directed by Jesus to help His disciples.   In his letter to the Philippians, chapter 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to God. And the peace of God, which tr

The Adams Family

Have you ever wondered why Cain killed his brother?  What possibly could have been the reason for Cain taking Abel’s life?  One day, on that “field of dreams,” Cain ended his younger brother’s life.  To understand this act of violence, we need to see the events that preceded this tragedy.    After the fall of Eve and Adam and God’s response to their disobedience, we see the first shedding of blood.  Adam and Eve had become aware of their physical differences.  The danger of that realit

End to End

When brooks are so clear, one sees the stones and surface, we touch, all, at once.   Likewise your grace, Lord, frees, end to end, the conscience,* awe gasps at fullness.   Brooks are far away yet echo “This is the day!” Our hearts and minds rest. __________ Hebrews 9:10; Hebrews 9:14

For Ever and Ever

Among the many Bible phrases in the English language which emphasize God's eternal being, one that stands out is "for ever and ever".   Of course, echoes of these words from "Handel's Messiah" might have subliminally influenced this observation.   I have never questioned God's eternal nature, but in studying the wording of "for ever and ever" I keep musing on and getting blessed over this:  concerning the hope of the resurrection of the dead in 1 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV), the A

Used By God

Don't every think God can't use you. Just look at the different people He used in the Bible. They were not perfect in anyway. So if He can turn there life around for His glory just think how much more He can do for you.

Harmless Lamb of God

I wrote the hymn/poem below after reading Hebrews 7:25-27 (KJV):   5 Wherefore he [Messiah Jesus] is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.   26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;   27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own s

Such As I Have

As I listen to the growing number of Christians discuss and analyze current events, I have to wonder who stole their Bibles?  So much of the verbal exchanges are based on emotions, rather than Scriptural truth.  Immature Believers continue to call out for Divine intervention.  Their eyes and ears seem to be fixed on our country’s social, cultural, economic, racial, and political chaos.  Christians seem to have lost their identity.  Instead of addressing mountains to be moved, we are undressing t

Divorced--Whose Side Are You On?

Old news. Our world resembles a bad divorce. Discord is the national anthem.   On one side are people believing in the traditional and moral values given by God as the bedrock for mankind. But these principles fly in the face of today’s manifestation of a progressive, post-modernism lifestyle promoting self-adoration, self-actualization, and narcissism.   Every day the news is the same.   Polarity.   Tradition, the old ways, produced an environment benefic

The Way

(after reading Acts of the Apostles 9)   To be in the Way is to call on the Name of Jesus. Though having not seen, trust binds a dream to reason. History attests the two covenants are married to the common thread of love of the Groom in all seasons, that He Who loved first would slake the thirst of the lost, starting with Jacob and spreading  abroad Pentecost’s Church.   The Way no longer waits, Spirit pours in Abba’s Kingdom. Our sons

Healing Will Come

Healing will come when we choose to forgive. We must make a decision to forgive every time someone offends us. It is the will of the devil to keep us bound by unforgiveness. It is unfortunate that many of God's people are struggling with this very thing. But when we choose to obey the Word of God and remember that He has forgiven us for Christ sake, it will become easier to let go of the pain that the offense has caused. Forgiveness is liberating and we will be able to experience the joy of the

Jeshurun

Heaven reels in song when any sinner repents, * as joy makes more room.   Angel anthems ring ‘round the elders and the throne. God’s will comes to earth!   Leaves, for touch to heal,  stretch to shade Mount of Olives, thousands of cures felt!   “Jeshurun”, whispered, ** crescendos on angels’ lips, hails love for the bride.   “Behold all things new!” *** finds fulfillment in the Son. Peace rejuvenates.

Passionate

How passionate are you for God? Do you find yourself thirsty for Him? If you don't have that type of passion and you desire it then pray for that kind of passion. Pray for His presence in your life. Pray to know Him as the source of your satisfaction.

Is Your Opinion Needed?

Most everyone has an opinion about something.  To express a personal bias, especially on controversial issues, can cause both positive and negative responses.  Depending on where other people stand on an issue, it can affect both friendships and relationships.  The question we must ask ourselves is what is the purpose of expressing our opinion?  Are we trying to influence others to our way of thinking?  Is our opinion to show the span of our knowledge?  Is making known our opinion helping to edi
