Have you been tying your shoes all wrong?

Recommended Posts

Think you've been tying your shoes correctly? Think again. Oh, this is fun! There's a video gone viral on Twitter with almost 19 million views and I don't know how many shares on fun ways to tie your sneakers. Unfortunately, it's not on Youtube, so I can't share that one, not everyone will be able to view it. However, there are tons of videos on Youtube on dozens of ways to tie shoes. These are so fun! And amazing! I tried to find one that isn't so long. Some are too long. So here's this one...:D

It's funny that after learning to tie shoes for so many years, I am now old enough to wear dress shoes - no shoelaces - and loafers.

What was the point, I wonder?

Maybe the millennials  have time to tie their shoes in fancy ways, I gave up and use slip on shoes for both dress and leisure.

@lynnmosher Thanks for posting this I think I will pass it on to my kids and grandkids, they will have fun with it.

You're welcome. There are so many more videos with even more ideas if they want to look through Youtube. I think my granddaughters will love these. :D

This is a cool video. I liked the one where the lace was woven like a basket weave. I might try that one. The others seemed a bit complicated for me. Thank you, Lynn.

Fun fact: I never learned to tie my shoes. At least not the “correct” way - where you loop that one lace around the other or something.

I’ve been rocking the “bunny ears” tying style for decades. 😂

Rocket style all the way!

Shoe tying is one art. Lacing is another.  I use a pattern that helps offset excessive pronation (the tendency for the feet to roll inward) taught by a chiropractor. Can't hurt, might help.

I remember learning to tie your shoes got you a reward back in my kindergarten class, and I was one of the last to get it because I hated tying shoe-laces. I actually remember fooling my teacher into thinking I did it *rueful laugh*. To this day, I prefer wearing sandals and, for formal occasions, slip-on dress shoes, and I could not be happier.
