"JUST BE CONTENT"
Philippians 2:5 KJV
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus
How many are willing to raise your hand to answer this question…Before you raise your hand…the question is “are you willing to follow Christ even when all you hoped for and all you prayed for has not produced victory”? You have studied the Word, prayed, fasted, and done all you know to do BUT the fear of failure is real in your mind. What are you going to do?
In The New Testament Book Of Philippians Paul is in prison because he advanced the Gospel and had brought assurance of Blessings. Statements he made that enable us to have faith even when we are faced with serious consequences are found in his writings…Example…Chapter 1 verse 6 KJV…”Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: or chapter 1 verse 21 KJV…For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.
In Chapter 2 verse 5 KJV…Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…6…Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God…7…But made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8…And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
I know what you are thinking, this is not good for Jesus but verses 9-11 changes your mind KJV…9…Wherefore GOD hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name…10… That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth: 11…And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of GOD the Father…
In Chapter 3… Paul warns readers against “Confidence In The Flesh”…beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, instead when your Spirit tells you…tell the readers to “Rejoice in the Lord always. Chapter 4:5 KJV gives us an assurance…Let your moderation be known unto all men, The Lord Is At Hand…6…Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto GOD…7…And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8…Finally brethren whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatso ever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of Good Report…If there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Chapter 4 ends with “Peace in All Circumstances”…Paul wants us to remember “He knows what we will face in our walk with Jesus” …and gives us this to hang on to Verse 11… Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content…12…I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13…I can do all things through Christ which stregtheneth me…and 19…But My GOD shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus
Thank You Father For Your Word
