Greetings!

Finally I have found it! A forum specifically for Christian writers to interact. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and to forming some new friendships in this community.

I must admit, however, that my main reason for seeking out this forum was to find a serious critique partner to help me polish my completed book for young people (age range of around 12-15).

I say "serious" critique partner only because I have been in these kind of partnerships before, as probably many of you have, and they seldom last very long. Sometimes I am even the one to blame for their failure, which is why I have not sought out critiques for my book until it was finished. Ideally, what I am hoping to find is another writer with a book at least partly finished, so we can begin exchanging chapters, although I'm perfectly willing to read short stories and articles, as well.

I am willing to help critique any kind of writing, although my specialty is writing for children and teens. The book I'd like to get opinions on is a Christian novel for young people. The working title is "Falcon the Fearless" (I didn't say it worked well :). Basically, it's the story of a 14-year-old boy whose family takes in a hyper 7-year-old foster child named Falcon.

Since this is already starting to sound like a cover letter, I might as well tell you a little more about myself and my writing, to help you decide if I'm worth your trouble. :) Let's see... I've been writing seriously for about seven years. Almost all of my publishing credits are in the Christian market, including magazines such as Straight (now called Encounter), On the Line, Guide, Discovery Trails, Insight, Primary Treasure, and an acceptance from Guideposts for Teens. I have never had a book published.

So, if anyone is interested in forming a real, lasting critique partnership, feel free to contact me. Tell me about yourself and your writing. I am very eager to make this work out.

I'm not looking to partner, either, but I'm glad you're here! You've come to the right place!

Hello!
I've definitely been looking for - well in your words 'a critique partner'. Please refer the thread I posted in this same forum titled 'Invitation' which was an invitation for the same.

You can email me: dctilak@yahoo.co.uk.

I'm also interested in writing for young people though it would be for students in colleges and universities. I may start a magazine in a newletter-format which is also for students. Looking at your post I first thought you were looking for a critique partner of the age group 12-15. When I realised you were'nt I thought I'd reply.

Some of my objectives are these:
> To be motivated, and even reminded, by the other person to write.
> For some high level of writing standards to be adhered to as a result of a partnership.

Let's see how things work out.

That wasn't my grin. It must have been the computer.
