Hi Bro. Dave and anyone else who has published through Lulu. My cousin has had contact with them and they are asking $1.50 per scanned page. They mentioned about sending it digitally or hard copy. Her question was: How will she send 80 page manuscript by attachment? Or do you have to send hard copies to them?

Please let me know soon as she wants to answer them soon. Or if you would allow me to give her your e-mail address, you could correspond with her and she would get a more direct answer.

Thank you,

Bertha

Lulu has live chat support as well as message boards on their site. You should ask your questions there.

I put an e-book on lulu and it was very easy to follow the instructions. The hardest part was making the pdf file and that really had nothing to do with lulu.

Naturally an e-book is much more simple than a hardcopy book.

Ellen James,

I saw your post and wanted to respond. Lulu.com is a great group. I have 2 of my three books published with them as well as my publisher (I have a non exclusive relationship). My books are: Another Side of the Coin, and When the Holy Spirit Reveals by Gregg N. Huestis.

I must confess that working with lulu.com can been difficult. You have to know how to do the text setup for the book which can been a nightmare...I went through this several times until I finally figured it out.

If you want to know more please send me an email. It is a great company but there is a lot of technical knowledge that is needed to work with them. I was fortunate that I have several years of experience with book set up etc. Even then it was still difficult and frustrating at times.

I also know of another publisher that you or your friend might want to look into. I am working with them as well but they are a POD, but one that is very inexpensive and reasonable. If you are interested you can email me and I will be glad to tell you more.

I've tested Lulu, but ended up not publishing with them because my book got picked in a contest for publishing...otherwise I liked the company, and would recommend them, but it doesn take some know how on your end.
