Hello All.
I would like to pass on my website. It has just been revamped, but is in need of some tweaking. The links bars on the left are there if you move your cursor over them. Soon I'll get it showing properly. But in the meantime, I would like to know if you like the sight. My attempt there is to have the site reflect the kind of writing I do, which is historical fiction.
My first book The Rebel's Pledge, is receiving 5 star reviews. It was published last year. I have had to learn that as Christian writer I needed to be patient and allow the Lord to guide my path. Things are picking up speed and I have give Him all the credit for everything that is happening in my life.
I was discontent with my novel's first book cover. That has now been changed willingly and with courtesy from my publisher. A few typos were in the text, and that too was taken care of. My publisher now has a new managing editor who is a real authors' advocate and is marketing and publicizing like crazy. She got me my first book signing.
The first Thursday in July I was praying for the Lord to give me some guidance on promotion. The next morning I received a call from my publisher telling me about a cafe in town who's owner was trying to get a hold of me. I linked up with him, and he said he had read The Rebel's Pledge and wanted me to do a signing at the cafe. He said he felt the book was important.
It is a blessing to see readers pick up on the spiritual aspects of a book, and he did. Now that I have reviews and a book signing, I feel more confident to go out and approach book stores for signings. We have our family reunion each August at my cousin Nora Roberts' home, and I am playing to talk to her about doing a signing at her bookstore in Boonesboro, MD. That is on my prayer list too.
So if anyone is in the Frederick, Maryland area, my book signing is on Thursday, August 22 from 7 to 9 at the Frederick Coffee Company....a coffee cafe in the historic district on East Street.
