Hi Rebecca.
Yesterday, I was searching the net for ideas for character names and I came across someones comment somewhere, that some writers sites have a name dictionary or list that writers can hunt through for characters names etc.
Any chance we could have something like that here? Or do we already have one?

I think that is a grand idea! I never thought to even keep a list on my computer, but rather seem to pick names at random when I've needed them. Of course I always think of catchy names when I don't need them, I tell myself I'm sure to remember them, and then, of course, my memory goes foggy.

You're right, we don't currently have a list. This is a great idea for a resource! :)
I know there are plenty of name generators out on the net, many of which are very elaborate and include origin of the names, meaning, etc. Maybe the best way to do this is to make a linked list (and descriptions) of each of the existing sites? That way, members could select which resource would best suit the needs they have at the time.
What do you think?

Hey, Rebecca. I stumbled across an amazing website this morning that is full of thousands of names. It gives you choices of country etc on the main page and then takes you to all sorts of lists. I was just looking for Irish names and ended up with 120 pages worth.
