The "RIGHT COLUMN" is a wonderful place, especially for us who only have seconds to browse.(look out! Here comes the boss!) LOVE IT! However, many times I get frustrated because it gets clogged up with newbies saying HI! (How wonderful to be growing!) and topics quickly get pushed down and off and dissapear. Sure you can take the time to venture in to the forums, but....and well we should....well.....

Couldn't we have a Hello Newbie column on the left side or something to fix this problem?

Just a suggestion....

Hi BrotherDave,

I'm moving this to the "Suggestion Box" forum.

You're about to get your wish. I'm currently working on a design which separates the forums out a bit more on the home page. I'm hoping to release the new design very soon, within the next couple weeks.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Becca is good - when I make a suggestion she manages to do it retrospectively almost as if "it was there already" !!!!!

Will that include the poetry workshop posts as well? I never read the poetry posts, and it's difficult to find the new "Open forum. writers lounge..." when the poetry forum posts fill up the sidebar also.

Thanks, guys! You're the best! !thumbsup!

MsSherry - Yep! :) I'm planning to separate the workshops from the discussion forums. Ideally I'll have each box collapsible, so if you want to "hide" certain forums on the home page, you can. The computer will remember your preferences (when you're signed in) and customize the page for you.

Keep in mind that this is what I'm aiming for... being able to pull it off while still keeping everything uncluttered looking is another story. I'm moving all the essential login info to the top bar also, and working to figure out a way to "hide" the left sidebar for those members who prefer to view the forums that way.

Hope this helps!
