Yes, it is time for the next Bat Cave Poetry Contest!

The Bat Cave(sometimes called 'Critique group 2) is a place at CW where poetry is usually the last thing that happens.

However, we recognize this area of need and therefore enjoy seeing new works by the many fine poets on this forum! We love to see the poets present their excellent work!

If you wish to enter, PM your entry to me by February 5th. We will read them in the Bat Cave and, on February 6th, I will post them anonymously in the Poetry Workshop. Everyone will get to vote on their favorite. The winner will be determined by February 14th. Valentines Day.

Why Valentines Day? I'm glad you asked. That is because there is to be a theme to this contest and that theme is LOVE. Love of God, love for God, love of country, love for your wife, husband...love. And no fair hauling out something you've already won an award for. Shoot, even I have one good love poem I could just keep entering, but where's the challenge?

Now, I wish I had a huge monetary prize for the winner, but we don't. You will, however, be placed on our front page as the Number One Love Poet. Which is a tremendous responsibilty and honor when you think about it. And all entrants will have a fine poem in their possesion for addition to a portfolio or even publication.

So, that is the contest. Have fun and I hope to be receiving your love poems!

Naserian - think you've blown it - the post was supposed to be anonymous and sent via the "Personal Message" vehicle.
