This touched me but I don't know what to do with it. I need to share it though.
They were a little short staffed at church today so I was ask to help with the offering. A "challenged" young lady, sitting amidst her "unchallenged" peers was the only one in the row to reach out with her offering, five pennies. It was not all her family could afford but it touched me. I do not keep track of the offering, but couldn't miss this. After church I went up to the young lady, standing with her mother now, and told her how much her smile blessed me, that little compliment seemed to make her day. Maybe that is why God touched me with this. I have tryed to write what I am feeling, but this is all I can do. I usually find a deeper meaning in things like this, but maybe, this time, this is all there is. I hope this is all right, I had to write.

That's marvelous Tim! Your reached out to eachother and were blessed. Cool.

Here in Vegas we get a lot of change in our offerings, sometimes envelopes full of nickeles and pennies. One time we got a cloth bag full of quarters! Today someone gave a Swiss watch. My mom was one who regularly gave from the bottom of her purse all the changed he could throw into the bucket.

God bless the given, for they shall be given to!

Tim,
Thank you for sharing about the young woman's offering. What a sweet aroma must have filled the air as she lovingly gave her 5 pennies! And to think that God will bless her gift a hundred fold!! Don't apologize for sharing such a beautiful moment. You did just fine writing about it.

Thank you Brother Dave and edmmom, you comments were quite encouraging. So encouraging in fact that I was able to write a small devotional column from this experiance. I am going to post it in the non-fiction workshop. What a surprise blessing.

Brother DAve,

Thank you for sharing this moment. I'm glad to saw the beauty in something most consider ordinary. It stands by itself--inspiring!
