I found some good guide lines in critiquing people's work over at Nessa's writing forum: "Arcane Artistry."
I know that this will be a valuable bit of info for me at least. I will have more ease in critiquing someone. Hope this helps others also.

Suggestions for comment headings:

1) My first impressions of your story
2) The plot
3) The characters
4) The action
5) The dialogue
6) The overall story
7) The technical details (spelling, grammar, scientific or historical details), etc.
8) What I loved about this work, and why
9) What caused me problems, and why
10) Final comments
11) A link to the story of mine I would like comments on (if applicable)

I don't have the knowledge or experiance to be so complete, but this is a level to aspire to, to at least go beyond "like or dis-like". It is food for thought.

I would like to add, don't be too subtle or too sarcastic, just be honest.
