I'd like to suggest setting a minimum post requirement for the publishing success forum, something like 50 or 100, such as we have for the workshops.
Isn't it supposed to be for "family" to share their success...not for "fly-bys" to use for free advertising?

I completely agree. :) Although I allow new members to submit in the Publishing Success forum, the threads are all moderated, and won't display until I approve them. I won't approve any threads where the member hasn't made at least an attempt to introduce themselves or otherwise participate in our community. Yes, it's more work for me to manage it this way; however, I feel the efforts are worthwhile.
Why am I going a little more lax on the Publishing Success forums than on the workshops? There are a few reasons, but the primary one is this: I want to offer incentive for professional writers to join our community. Yes, the Publishing Success forum is mainly a way to celebrate the success of our established members; but it's also a great tool to infuse successful, professional writers as new members into our community. A good mix of writers from all experience level is a very healthy thing for our site.

Rebecca,
You are doing a wonderful job!!! This is an encouraging forum. Everyone I've had contact with is polite and supportive.
Are you still considering a Freelance Opportunity Board where we can share publication opportunities for our fellow members? It is especially helpful for beginning writers for networking and getting publishing credits. I've had some great experiences with Christian editors. I'd love to give others the opportunity too. I have mentioned some in the open forum but they kind of get lost among the other topics.
Thank you for all you do to make this a quality site for Christians to share their work. I appreciate all your hard work. God is smiling down on you.
Karen :)
