Hi everyone,
Sometimes, I feel sappy - and I guess I feel that way right now. If there was ever a moment to join hands and sing Kum-Ba-Ya this would be it for me. Here's why:
Dallas, Texas (where I reside) is now home to many victims of Hurricane Katrina. And, there's been an outpouring of love by the people, churches, and government here to help as much as possible. Even the CARES Team of our apartment complex hosted a festival event this weekend to donate funds raised.
So many to help and every dollar counts. At the same time, I receive emails from students in Indoensia trying to solicite donations just for $100.00 to receive books, bibles, and supplies to continue ministering to Tsunami victims. Or requests to help find host families for children looking for temporary shelter. These requests don't come from random people - they're sent or forwarded by friends and friends of friends, etc.
All I know to do is pray and let God lead me accordingly but occasionally I feel sappy and I have to remember that we will win this fight because God said so! Even though the work of the enemy is rampant God will see us through - we just can't quit!
Sorry to share my sappiness at this moment but meet me at the campfire if you wish to sing Kum-Ba-Ya with me tonight. I'll be the chick with the marshmellows for the s'mores!
