Hey guys! I've wandered back home... Haven't been up to too much. Just been working and too busy to be me! :)
I love the new set up in here! Great job all!
I found my Avatar in First Act's comedy room. I call it Ladypreacher Incognito. Glenn's site is full of good humor if you're looking for a place to unwind. Here's his website in case anyone else is as far out of the loop as I have been! (http://www.faithhumor.com)
I've been busy researching the ins and outs of publishing and the do's and don'ts... Such a lot of work, but I've come a long way and it's been worth the effort! Got to get back to writing though! I'm only a third of the way through with a book I've been writing forever it seems! I have three more running around in my little pea brain and need to get on the ball!
Just this week I had a publisher request to read my first novel. I had been accepted by a publishing house once before with it. Maybe this time they'll say "Yes" and mean it! I'm forever hopeful! If not, then why bother! :)
Anyway, that's my great update. Hope to be more active again...

Hey there,
great to see you back. :)
May your book get out in print soon and reach the hearts of many. Missed seeing you around.
Have you come up with any helpful hints or do's and don'ts about getting published?
It's just after 4 am Monday morning here and I'm still half asleep. I need to go fetch a cup of tea and get back into editing.
catch you later,
Rulan

Hey there. Good to be back. Thanks. As far as any helpful hints I guess best I could say is to just keep on keeping on. That may seem trite, but it's the only way to go.
I did learn something from a friend that went to a writer's conference here in town a couple of weeks ago that I found to be interesting. She said that if you have been accepted by a publishing house and then for whatever reason it doesn't work out then whatever you do, don't mention it! She said that it is an instant turn off as everyone wants "fresh" work. I thought that if someone had shown interest then it would be an excellent point to bring up... Well, shut my mouth~! :)
One thing that I can say is that there is no substitute for concentrated effort when it comes to preparing your work for publication. I've found that writing a synopsis is tedious, but not impossible. I also found that Preditors and Editors is an excellent starting place to research publishers and agents. I followed a link that was in the Steve Laube Agency and they pointed out step by step what publishers and agents are looking for. I've never been more prepared to approach necessary contacts to get my work in print.
Everything in HIS timing is the most important factor! This house that is looking at my work contacted me and offered to read my book after I had simply responded to a short questionaire in their web site. I didn't even knock, and the door just appeared... I know that the Lord has blessed me with a gift and excellent words. Now just to see if this is the right door... I am forever hopeful!
I'm ready for my next snippet on your novel! I was trying to write a discriptive beach scene the other day and the artistry of your words haunted me! My words fell a bit flat in comparison! Now who's got their editing pencil out? :) As one of my geeky character's said so well, "Gotta get this right, gotta get this right," as he pushed his glasses back on his nobby little nose.

ladypreacher,
Hi there,
sorry this has taken me so long. Things have been a little crazy lately. Oh well, that's life. :)

Do you still have the link for that? It could be an interesting and helpful read, for me and for others.

Sounds promising. How did it go?

lol. I've been rather busy lately. Sorry I hadn't sent you the next installment. I must do that. Thank you for the comment on my beach scene. :D
Catch up with you soon,

hey there. my computer is getting a new mind, and meantime I'm trying not to lose mine. seems so trivial comparated to what is going on in the South Coast. My heart and prayers are with all of the families affected by this great diaster.
I'll be out of commission at least till my son gets his computer up and running while I wait for mine to come home.
Just when I tried to plug back in...
take care.

Hey, Hi. Did I miss too much? I did see something by AngelAziariah about advertising on a porn site. What a deal that would be. I think that isn't too good a plan, but I'll address it later after I read his posts. I started to read it, but no time right now to. Too much to do to get my puter back in action. At least I'm back online finally!

Whitehawke,
Hey there. Yeah, it took way too long! I had sent my computer home with my oldest daughter so her techy could get it back up and running. I'm not completely happy with the results, but I'm okay I guess... I was able to run it in safe mode and saved all of my Word files and so I didn't have to suffer that great aggravation at least. My laptop got updated while they were at it and can now talk to my stationary computer and that's a big plus. Before it had a lame word processor on it. Still, I just don't like the word processor that I ended up with. My other was so much smarter. It bogged down my computer is what they tell me. One of these days I'll get new gear and pass my little boxes on to my kids.
I've been contemplating a scene in my current novel, but have been at a stall. I had some notes that I wanted to refer back to and have somehow misplaced them. That always throws a kink in things, as I'm somewhat obsessive-compulsive, especially when it comes to losing something. When it's concerning my writing then I go way overboard in my intensity to find what I'm looking for! And this wasn't even something that I had written! It's a passage a teen wrote for me in modern day "Street Speak". I've almost resigned myself to let it go, almost.
I loved the book excerpts that you sent me. Thanks for reminding me of the e-mail. I had received it in the heat of all of my computer troubles and hadn't had a chance to read it until tonight. Great work! Your descriptions make me want to focus in on the details more and that's always a good thing!
Anyway, guess I'll go for now. I would like to wander around in the writing room a bit, but not tonight. This old gal is just too worn out! Between working and family life I've been a bit on the overloaded side of things! Gonna go rest my brain!
Thanks for checking in on me.
