Prayer request...ouch!

I'm writing this prayer request because ....oh man, you know last year when I was on crutches for so long because of my knee? Well, since it healed, I have been careful not to re-injure it or anything. So tonight, after the afternoon rain storm, I was out on the driveway and managed to slip. In an effort not to land on my knee, it feels like I have yanked every muscle in my right hip joint...owwwww....walking is painful. Please pray for that to heal and for me to quit falling, tripping, smashing, crashing, and other wise running into things. Jeesh! If I had been in ballet as a child I would have been the kid tripping over everyone else.

Oh Merry, You're on the prayer list! It hurts so much to fall on the hips. I pray you recover soon. Hopefully you have the weekend to rest.

I took ballet as a kid (and teen and adult)) and I still tripped over my own feet. I could dance but walking was such a challenge. My dance instructor used to kiddingly ask me not to tell them where I took dance lessons. LOL! I splattered myself all over a Safeway parking lot while on my trip because I didn't see the cement barrier at the end of the marked spaces. I didn't hurt much but my dignity, thank goodness.

Merry...I hope you can recieve this comment without thinking I am completely insane. :) You might want to consider spiritual warfare against the demonic spirit which is behind this...especially if it is, as you say, something that has plauged you since childhood. There IS a demonic spirit which manifests itself in clumsiness. (Unfortunately, I can't recall what it is...but I'll do some research to see if I can find it.)

Nope, not crazy. In fact I've considered that. Especially since, when I step into a real spirtual pile, ahem, the first thing I need to watch out for is accident prone-ness. Not like a possesion, but more like oppression. This first week of school there have been a few 'things' making their presence known...I really think they enter the school with every new batch of public school students we get...serious...you can almost feel them. And the garabge doesn't always instantly go away.

Now, either that or, serious now, I did get whacked in the head awfully hard when I was in the first grade. Not an accident by means of clumsiness, but from trying to take on a super long, extremely steep hill on a tricycle. I lost control of my little bike, hit a bump, went flying over the handle bars and broke my fall with my forehead. Didn't crack my skull, didn't have a concussion, a fact which prompted the doctor to suggest I had bones like a dinosaur, because apparently he felt I should have bashed my skull in. But something happened. It turned both of my eyes black for about a year and I've worn glasses since. But...I dunno. Either way, thank you for the prayers!

Derek Prince, in his book “Blessings and Curses,” gives seven indications of a curse. They are:

• Mental and/or emotional breakdown

• Repeated or chronic sicknesses (especially if hereditary)

• Barrenness, a tendency to miscarry or related female problems

• Breakdown of marriage and family alienation

• Continuing financial insufficiency

• Being accident prone

• A history of suicides and unnatural or untimely deaths

Hmmm...I have two of the seven...(I always did [in part] chalk up my family alienation and part of my marriage break-up to some heavy occult influeneces in my clan.) This clumsy stuff really didn't pick up big time until about ten years ago right after I really, quite publicly, ticked off a medium down here. SHe was promoting her book on listening to the dead and none of the good Christians I recognized in the audience even bothered to question her...so naturally I had to open my mouth. I had some people come up to me afterwards and thank me for saying something but I was a real slapstick joke for awhile afterwards. Then it really slowed down, so....prayers always appreciated.

Yeah, like Mysticfire asked, do curses show up in dreams?

Some of the things Firefeet mentioned sound...familiar, shall I say. My family has always been....sensitive to the supernatural side. For me...it's the dreams. I've had them since I was really young....I used to sleep with a Bible under my pillow (innocence, I thought it'd keep the dreams at bay) but lately, they've returned with a vengence....
I never knew they could cause accidents, even simple ones. o.O Gives you something to think about....

Dreams and Visions by Jane Hamon

"God will occasionally use a dream that startles or frightens to get our attention. In some cases, God may have been trying to deal with the dream concerning a certain issue in his or her life for period of time before the dream; but because of dullness of hearing or perhaps negligence to heed the voice of the Lord, the dreamer simply has not paid attention. Therefore, he or she has the unpleasant experience of what many call a nightmare, or bad dream.

Not all nightmares come from God, however. Hidden areas of our subconsious mind, things we read or see or hear and areas of long-term or recent anxiety all can produce frightening dreams. Soulish nightmares, though fearful, can often hold a key that will unlock areas needing emotional release or healing and should therefore be examined, too.

Some nightmares, on the other hand, are avenues for tormenting demonic spirits to harass and rob a person of his or her inner peace and joy.

If you or someone you know is having difficulty dealing with with harassing dreams which are producing fruits of fear, anxiety and terror, it is probable that these dreams are not from God but, rather, are either soulfully or demonically inspired. Such nightmares may be a response to something you have allowed your mind to feed on--movies, books, television programs, ungodly thoughts, fears. These thoughts, once planted in your mind, can grow into fearful thins and become areas where spirits of darkness can begin to torment and harass you. When dealing with thoughts brought on by a spirit of fear or other demonic spirits, Christians should know they have been given spiritual authority over such things by the Word of God. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, James 4:7}
