I was wondering if you guys could keep me in prayer.

I have been having the hardest time sleeping within the past week, it's never been worse. Last night I got a total of 3 hours of rest and I just can't continue on like this. Not only is it physically wearisome, it is also draining emotionally. I've been having such bad dreams lately too, everytime I awake it feels like another end or beginning of a battle.

I would really appreciate some prayer.

Before trying to go to sleep, pray these scriptures, and ask God to guard and protect you and your thoughts as you sleep.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
~Proverbs 3:24

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust. ~Psalm 4:8

Also, you might ask the Holy Spirit to illumine anything that may be behind this insomnia...whether it's emotional or physical...and ask for guidance to deal with those issues.

Practically speaking, you might try melatonin. It's a "drug" but it's exactly the same as the hormone your body naturally produces to regulate your sleep patterns. It can really help get you back on a normal cycle after a bout of insomnia.

HTH....praying for ya...

Firefeet had a great suggestion -- and it works because I've faced the same problem at times.

I did visit your blog and read where there are changes you will be soon facing. Maybe that is where the problem stems from. I know that as I face change sometimes my subconscious works overtime when I'm not even aware of it.

Something else you might try and that is praying the Armor of God. I do that each morning but there have been times when I've prayed it before going to bed.

If you're interested, I have an entry on my blog (Words from the Heart) called, "Dress for Success." It's a little more informal discussion of God's Armor.

In any case, I'll be praying for you.

Blessings, Francine

P.S. The photos on your blog are beautiful. !thumbsup! What a wonderful way to show God's creation. :)

Thank you for all the advice and prayers. Last night I slept around 13 hours only waking up twice. I could still sleep right now.

I most always pray and read the Bible as I fall asleep every night, it makes a difference but the past few nights it has not done so at all. It was almost difficult not to get angry or upset with God because of something from the other night. He is suppose to protect us as we rest but instead I was attacked. That is behind now, so it doesn't matter at this point.

I hope I can sleep well again tonite.

ToHope,
I gather you meant a spiritual attack? If so, I know what that is like. I pray the Lords angels will surround you as you sleep and that His love and peace will enfold you.
I will pray for you as the Lord leads.
One thing I have found helpful, is to take a notebook and pen and sit somewhere quite. Ask the Lord what's causing this to happen and if there is anything you need to do. Write down everything thing that comes to mind. Words, actions, pictures or memories. Everything, no matter how silly or strange it may sound.
Then ask the Lord what to do, then give it all to him.
Peace be with you.

Caolinn,

Praying for your sleep tonight. Read God's word out loud, those nasty little demon ears hate to hear His word. God's children will be attacked, but remember they can only go so far and it will never be beyond God's love, strength or power.

Sleep sweet in His arms.

In Christ,

Lisa
