_____I don't know what's going on with this Writers' Lounge thing, but here it goes. I know some of you know about my writers tips, but I have writen a new thing to help people out with their work load.
http://www.vailion.com/PacemakerProgramForWriters.htm
_____Excript: You (that means me for the moment) must do a minimum of 400 words a day to achieve 12,000 words a month (30 days). This will bring you to about 144,000 words a year. That’s a good sized novel don’t you think. One novel a year should be within a large amount of people’s grasp.
_____I recommend applying this to your work day. If you are falling behind on your quota, do some extra work one day. If you are way ahead, maybe you should think about taking a small brake. I don’t have writers block, but I do burn out. A burn out takes more time than pacing myself.
_____As always, keep up the good work maties. Oh, and feel free to copy this table and use it on yourself.

_____Excript: I decided to write this document to cover things that I often have to teach people. Quite a few writers out there are unaware of what Microsoft Word can do. Word can change your way of writing, and even destroy your hard work.
_____I’m not going to hand walk you threw everything. I’m going to tell you why each tool is important, and send you to the direct information you need in Microsoft Word Help.
_____Before we start, I have a word of caution. When working with large portions of text (50,000 words or so) Word can mess some of it up, it does this even more when copy/pasting. To try to avoid this, I recommend that you read the Frames portion of this. To maximize your writing tools, you should read all of the following.
_____The Tips For Word Useres has a downloadable .zip file to illistrate a good deal of things.

Merry,
_____Note to you: please add these to the directery file thing. :)

I remember reading once that John Steinbeck used to come into his office, put a clean sheet in the typewriter and start typing out about 200 words of prose. Then he would pull the sheet out, crumple it up and pitch it in the waste can. He was just warming up!

Then there is the scene in Finding Forrester, where the title character teaches his young protege to put in a clean sheet and simply start typing something.

Prime the pump. It's hard to steer a parked car. (Mixing metaphor's, I know.)

Don't just sit there--type something! :)

Great idea Angel,
wish you had named the thread differently though. Perhaps you can ask to change the name to something the says what it's about? I fear it might not be so visible at the moment.
I like the idea of having a sheet with the word count on it. !thumbsup!
Think I'll print off a copy and stick it above my desk.

_____I keep mine updated in word. That way I can change the monthly total with ease.
