Hello All,

One thing that has helped me quite a bit in the last year is starting a blog. They are pretty easy to set up and a good bit of fun. What I discovered is what a catalyst it has been for my writing. It is great to have a place to post some ideas and things the Lord has been showing me. I've been posting something almost every day and have developed a book and a number of articles out of it. Its a great way to test drive some of your stuff (old and new) and perhaps get some feedback (many blogs are interactive). You can get to our blog with the link in our signature file.

I wish I could, I would love to learn to be more diciplined about blogging. I think it is great when people can do it daily. Lately I have been writing all my work by hand instead of computer, not sure why really because I have to get it in the computer anyway.

What if you gathered together with a few others who would like to blog but are not able to do it daily? (You want a blog to have new content daily or almost daily to keep people coming back). I expect that there are enough around here to keep a pretty decent blog flowing. I know that with www.blogger.com (the "blogspot" blog) you can set up a blog which allows many team members to post fresh content. !thumbsup!

I also blog and one thing that I find beneficial is linking to others....I use blogspot and even though they advertise that they have a directory, I find very few visit my site from their directory....

In the Christian community of writers, there is no competition, as we are writing for our Father and spreading His word however we can.....

I encourage those who want to be added as a link to do so....John...I also have subscribed to Bravenet...a lot of their services are free to just copy and paste to your blog.

I am also happy to help anyone who needs assistance....I'm not incredibly techie, but I'll try to help... :)

One thing to remember blogs, particularly on blogger (blogspot), is that they get googled pretty regularly. So if someone googles a particular word or phrase, and you have written something about that subject, they just might pay you a visit.

For example, one of my blog articles is How to Forgive By Faith (http://faithlog.blogspot.com/2005/02/how-to-forgive-by-faith.html). Somebody googled "how to forgive," found my article and even posted a comment. Pretty cool when that happens

See, this thing is bigger than we might realize :)

When I originally set up my web, I subscribed to a huge number of search engines for free.....if you go into yahoo search and type in poetry and devotionals, my web is listed as #10...I have no idea how it climbed so quickly as I have only had it up and running six months or more.....and I generate a fair amount of comments.....I just havent figured out how to set up my actual guest book....the comments are recorded and I receive them...I just cant get it to publish for me on my site.....anyways the search engines do give you lots of exposure....

Another great thing about blogging or having a live journal is that it just helps to empty your head somewhere. We all get our ideas but if we don't do something about them, we may forget. Or, what has been important for me, is putting words to emotion. I'm a very introverted and introspective person, so I think alot more than I talk, and I end up holding stuff in that I really need to get out. Since I've started live journaling, I've been able to get alot of thoughts and feelings out, and as some of you mentioned, it helps to look through everything you've written and turn it into something that can glorify God.

I love my blog. I use it to vent, to jot down ideas I might want to use, and to ramble. I love reading other people's blogs as well. I find it to be a lot of fun. :)

Thanks for suggesting Blogger, I just signed up with it. ^-^

I think the link to it is http://thoughtsgathered.blogspot.com/ .

I usually have journals that I write in with ink or pencil, but at times it's easier or more modivating to journal on an online journal or Blog.
