Online Collaberation Tool

With Microsoft Word it's possible to do Online Collaberation where several people can work on the same text document in realtime. Is there a free tool for text editing that can do this?

I wish I had an answer for you. I do know that we have Microsoft Word in our office and it is networked so that we can each work on the same project from different stations. It seems to me that the internet would be no different. I'll ask our I.T. guy when he comes in tomarrow. Maybe he knows. :)
