Hi Carlson. Are you in Rebecca's group? Fortunate soul. Glad to have you on board. Since you like controversy allow me to pick on you concerning your views on our origins. Any opinions you care to share on the Intelligent Design movement? Aside from bothering you, I look forward to reading your work.

Merry,
I'm still on the fence as to the Intelligent Design movement. Some see it as an opportunity to reopen the debate over our origin. Some see it as a weakening of scriptural authority and a step toward accepting a more universal religion. Both sides have valid arguments. I believe we do need to reopen the debate because Science and faith are not mutually exclusive. Once we have illuminated the evidence on both sides, those sceptical of religion will see that an intelligent design is the only reasonable conclusion.
Because the subject is controversial, I'm hoping to incorporate the "intelligent design" debate into a future novel. Well, once I've finished my current controversial novels. My first novel focuses on a minister whose life is plagued by nightmares in which he is blowing up a federal building. As the book progresses, it starts to become reality. In my second book, the same minister (five years later), wakes from a dream in which he sees his death. In the third book, the now-deceased minister's autistic son ignites his school, the town, and the nation in a debate over the separation of church and state. The fourth book (completely unrelated to the first three) is written from the point of view of two boys contemplating a Columbine-style attack.
As my tag line says, writing from beyond the edge.
Thank you all for the welcome and I look forward to reading your projects in the near future.

Sounds wicked fine there, Carlson! Talk about someone who's going to fit in. COme check out the science thread sometime. Gumpngreen has turned it into an excellent science resource. Even when I teach science class I've used his information more than once.
Great to have to have you, though!
