Hi Everyone,
I have just found your web site and am busy familiarizing myself with everything.
I recently finished writing my book "By Hands of Strangers". I am waiting for the publishing process to get finished so I can say my book is live now. Writing is relatively new to me. I have worn many different hats in my lifetime. But I think the crowning one is going to be writing.

Hi, Alicelewis- it's super to meet you. How'd you do it? You said you're a relatively new writer, but you're getting published already. That's great! I think you'll love it here. :)

Hi alicelewis,
Welcome to CW and to our little family. I hope you enjoy getting to know your way around. Did you publish with a traditional publisher or did you self publish? Congrats either way!

Hi Dr. Rita
The Arizona desert! That's my neck of the woods. Pleased to meet you. I started writing two years ago. Hand writing in a journal at first till my husband insisted I needed a computer. Now I don't know what I would do without it.
The book I wrote is the story of my life. I was born in Poland towards the end of World War II. I lived through some horrible stuff. If you are interested in hearing more go to
http://wordsfromagarden.blogspot.com I just posted what the cover of my book will look like. Winepress Publishing is doing my book. They are a POD publisher under their Pleasant Word imprint. That's where I'm at. I have been invited to go to Denver this summer to the Christian Book Sellers Convention to promote my book. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
While I am waiting for the publishing process to get finished up I have been scouting other writing oppertunities on the web. Currently I am doing some ghostwriting for
allaboutgod.com. I get an assignment each week. Also I have an article in the May issue of Christianity 4 Life.
And now I found ChristianWriters.com. I think this writing business is addictive.

I'm a new writer too! I've been "writing" for a long time. But I'm a new "serious" writer. I want to publish my book at the beginning of 2006. Tell me how you got started or what made you get started writing. I would love to hear just a little bit about your journey.
God Bless

What made me want to start writing you asked.
My husband had been bugging for the past forty years to write my story but I refused. Who'd ever want to know about me? It was not until I heard someone say,
"God do you know what I'm going through? Do you care?" that I knew I had to tell my story in order to share God's message to me.
So my book is not only my story but also the revelation I received. It is a message that is universally applicable. I needed to wade through my past in order to tell the story.
After reading a bunch of how to write books, then doing the actual writing, I wrote a book proposal and posted it on ECPA. It was not long till Winepress contacted me.
Just recently I posted my cover design on my website. Between Winepress and me, we kicked a few ideas around till we came up with the present design. I think is just super.
Keep writing! If I can do it so can you!

Alice,
You are an encourager. I have been writing my story for over 22 years. I understand well the difficulty of reliving a past that is under the blood of Jesus Christ. The person I was then is not the one I am today by the mercy of Jesus Christ. I am a birthmother who moved over to allow another family to raise my three children because I wasn't financially able to do it alone. Recently, we have been reunited and it is imperative that I write the book. My life is phenomenal now, I have been married for 17 years and we are both active in the church. The Lord is gathering all of the pieces from my past to weave a beautiful masterpiece that will be used for his glory, and I am in awe of a God who is so faithful to me. God bless, gracem/lattereign

Congratulations Alicelewis.
It must be so exciting to publish your first book! Did you take a writing course or did you just read the 'how to write books'? I'm just wondering if it's possible to teach yourself to write without taking a course. I've written some poetry and now I'm learning to write short stories. I can't wait to write my first book!
