Hello all you happy people & not so happy people,
_____If you have a momment, can you do me a favor. Go by my site www.vailion.com and click on the pictures section in the contents. It will load up a page and at the bottom are two pictures. I'm going to have them placed on bookmarks and I want as many eyes to look over it before they are printed. I'm looking for incorect spelling or something that isn't understandble.
_____The order wont be confermend untill tomorow I belive. So, this is a rush post I guess. I crammed a lot of text onto the back of that bookmark, but I still need it to be understandble. (If you can't tell :eek: I'm a little over excited :p about the whole :o idea)

_____Sorry I can't send you a bumpersticker, will a bookmarker due? If so, do you want a 100 of them or so? I'm going to be putting them in bookstores for free, I figure this is the best way to get the word out to readers.
_____If you decide to try this idea out, be sure to ask me. The company I went threw said they would give me a $50 discount off my next order, and the person I refer will get a $25 discont on their order. I'm looking at getting a 1000 bookmarks for a little over $100. If the turnaround is good, I plan on buying them at a larger quantity - the price goes down to $0.08 per bookmark for 2000 of them. :D
_____Just think, I only need to convince a 1000 people to sign up for the book to get published. If I get %10 out of the people who grab the bookmark to sign up, I'd say it's in the bag. ;)

_____Now from what I understand you clicked pictures and it didn't load the page at all. Then again, did it load the page and not the pictures below? It could be that the server was lagging.
_____Still, the bottom picture is nothing but text, you may have scrolled down to that and not seen the picture above with sertan display settings. Can you go by the site again and make sure? You should see a four winged wolf with some text for one picture, and then below it is a vertical picture with just text.

Angel, I don't know kind of deal you've reached with your printer, but it just seems like the back is awful plain to me. If they'll let you do full color, I put together an example of a "flashier" bookmark. I also changed the wording slightly.

Hopefully Mr. Otis will drop by and see this. I know they've got some bookmarks for his wife's books, he'd know a lot more about what goes into it than me.

_____If I put color on the back, each bookmark will cost me twice as much. Just how it roles. My big problem is this:
--Christian bookstores will not hand out the bookmarks for free unless they are selling my book.
--Even small bookstores give you the round about.
--The guvermently funded library in town will take the bookmarks however.
--AND the secular bookstore will as well.

_____Now that there is just screwed all the hell up. That's the cleanist way I can say my openion. The above is the very reasion I'm thinking about dropping trying to deal with Christians alltogether.
_____I've busted my chops for christians doing art for them - and been given the shaft. Now I ask them if I can send them free bookmarks, and if they can hand them out to shopers, and they say no. So much for the suport of the christian comunity. We cut ourselfs off at the knees.
_____Anyways, I'm in a very bad mood at the momment. I need to sleep on it. I'm going to get the bookmarks nontheless, but I will more then likly be calling public librarys instead of my breathern.

I hope things work out for you Angel. It may be best to just market it to anyone, as those Christians don't sound too "Christian" in their attitude.

The front of the bookmark looks great. The back of the bookmark has a lot of information but like you said its probably needed to explain how your work is a new type of fantasy.
I suggest you change the layout to be more interesting, but the good news is because its not colour, it won't cost you extra.

What about the bulletin boards? Some bookstores have bulletin boards where the public can hang up notices. Maybe you could tack up a few bookmarks. They often have the bulletin boards at grocery stores and even the Wal-Marts have them. So do some convenience stores. It would be a lot of leg work, but just an idea.

The text sounds good. Very interesting.

I love the colors on WG's example. Very eye catching. I am not very artistically inclined--I envy, is that ok in this instance??, people who are creative in artistic endeavors.

I do understand though, that color bookmarks are probably very costly to produce.

I think you have read me wrong. I was not saying in any way that it looks funny. I was feeling embarrassed by my lack of ability to find my way around the www. I am only new to the internet and when you asked me to go back and have another look, I realised that I had gone right past the two pictures. For some reason, my mind was thinking photos. So I was looking for photos, that's why I said I couldn't find them. That's why I said it wasn't what I had expected. If I offended you, I am sorry, it was not my intent. Dyslexia runs in my family and sometimes I have trouble saying what I mean. I would really like to see the Bookmarks when they are printed.
I am an artist too and I have been hurt many times by christians and non-christians alike. Sometimes it has happened that way, purely because of some misunderstanding.

_____Thanks for the input. There is one draw back with the company I'm going threw. They charge every time they proff what you want done. So they will charge me again if I change anything.

_____You didn't offend me, you just confused me, or should I say, I confused me because I'm good at coming up with diffrent scenarios. Look at the bright side, I was labled with dislecsia, manic deprestion, narsisism, and a few other things. My wife says I don't have any of those problems, I just lack confidince in my work she says.
