ARGHHHHHHH Brother Dave....I love a challenge, but I knew I should have kept my opinion to myself.....Here is mine for tonight....cuz I am just too tired after an eight hour drive home.....It is minus 999 words..........AMEN....... ! ;) !thumbsup! :)

A “gold nugget” taken from my post “Paradox”

I used to think writing something 1000 words long was so easy!
But my life changed and many words make me queasy
It's so insane to think that Pain
is the thing that silenced me
but since death knocked at my door
Life is not what it used to be
Every word is precious
Every thought is gold
Every day a diamond
I should try desperately to hold
Every careless action
Now a thorn piercing my side
Every time a harsh word spoken
my flower heart withers inside
What have I done to deserve this suffering I bear?
nothing that my mind can fathom:
but at this instant, I don’t care.
Yes at this moment I’m still livid
I can’t hear Momma say “Goodnight”,
But her death has made me timid,
And certainly more childlike
I’m becoming more like Jesus
So that makes
Every thing
More bright
I couldn’t get a thousand words down
I hope that will be okay
I have nothing more to offer
But I tried it anyway

Even though it's been posted in the FAQ, the announcements, and in the readme sticky posts in nearly every forum on here, I guess it needs repeating. Poetry, articles, screenplays/stage scripts, and short stories are NOT to be posted in the open forum. There are workshops for this type of material--and they exist for a reason.

Those who wish to post golden nuggets can do so in the workshops--just not in the general discussion forums.
