Help!
I need your prayers.
My job is driving me mad. I am so thankful for this job. It is truly a financial blessing, but this time of year it drives me up the wall. I work in a factory that makes hydraulic motors and steering gears for the turf industry especially. In the springtime, our work hours increase dramatically. Usually, most of us are working 7 days a week and 10-12 hours a day. I know, some are saying "he ought to be grateful he has a job let alone one so lucrative;" yet, being a writer and husband and father of five, I am going mad trying to juggle everything. Plus, I am on 2nd shift so I don't even see the kids or wife til the weekend when they are out of school.
My family is tolerant, but they are not getting a father and husband, only a provider.
I know I'm whining, but I need God to hear my family's cry and my cry for time to be with them and time to WRITE!
Am I whining or am I right in asking for prayer on this matter?
Maybe I'm just in a funk, but I felt like I could ask you writer's for suggestions and prayer.
Thanks! :)

Hello,

You're not alone in the way you feel. Although I'm single I feel that my job gets in the way to further the talent I've been given to write. Continue to talk to God about this situation, really spend some quiet time with Him, He'll show you what to do (even if it means taking a step into the dark) I think most of us feel the same way you do. When God gives you something to do, any other job seems trivial.
You're not whinning nor complaining, maybe that feeling is God's way of letting you know that He has something more for you than the factory, but take it up with God first before you make a decision.

Perhaps this experience is God's way of asking you to learn something new. Patience? Or maybe he wants you to write a diary or essay so the words could speak to others in the similar situation. Who knows. Maybe prayer will show you.

John,
You are so right to honestly come and ask for prayer. That's what we, your family (of God) are about.

Dear Lord,
John desires to provide for your family which you are graciously allowing him to do. But he also wants to be with his family more than he is able at this time. We bring this burden to you Lord because you said to cast all our cares upon you. In Jesus name, I ask to help John with either another job, more time off or the patience to endure for a little longer. We don't see the future, only you do and I ask you to extend more of your wonderful peace and joy toward John. In Jesus Name.
Amen

John, I just want to add my prayers for you that God would comfort you during this time of frustration. I remember how it was when I was working long hours and sacrificing time with my family. It's hard and "NO" you aren't whining. Too often we make the mistake of NOT asking for prayer when we so desperately need it.

I pray that over this weekend you and your family will find even more time to spend with each other, to push aside other things, and just take time for each other and that God would bless this time in a special way.

Blessings, Francine

Thank you all so much for your prayers. They did help, and I had a decent day at work. I knew I could count on my writer family to support me in this need. God bless you all for your caring spirits. !thumbsup!

JKenny,
My prayers are with you, also, and, I know that God will continue to strengthen you and your family, and also bless y'all above all our imagination! Please remember, that God wants us to bring all our concerns to Him, no matter how trivial it may seem. Likewise, it is always ok to ask others to pray for us.

Wow, you have a lot on your plate there. But if you know God has put this desire to write on your heart, you are right to ask Him for wisdom and guidance. I'll add my prayers on your behalf as well.
