It's impossible to know how we're going to react until placed in certian situations, but praying for someone is hardly what I'd call doing nothing or being an uncaring human being. Unless the car was burning you shouldn't have tried to extract him yourself. Moving someone after an accident can cause serious damage.
Don't fault yourself, don't beat yourself up. You did what you could do. That's all any of us can do.

Donna,
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths." Prov. 3:5
Sometimes we must leave certain things to the Lord alone. You were his protector in prayer while help was on the way. Romans 8:26 "Likewise the spirit helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray . . ." The Holy Spirit was present in you with this man.
God is gracious and good.

Donna, my heart so went out to you when I read this tonight. I know it's been over 24 hrs. since this happened & you are probably much more at peace by this time, but know that the Lord was watching over both of you as you sat & prayed. You truly did the most important job that you could have done, praying for that man. I agree with the first post, it was imperative he not be moved by anyone but medical personel, and since your cell phone wouldn't work there, there was nothing physically that you would do. Just continue to pray for the man, and know that is probably the reason you were first on the scene, the Lord knew you would pray. Miralee

I just read your message and I was wondering how you are doing this week.
My prayers go out to you. None of us know how we would respond. You were praying for him. That is no little thing... remember you came upon the scene to do just what you did. God put you there at just the right time.
