Hi everyone! I stumbled on this site while doing a search for literary agents and thought it looked extremely helpful. I have already gained helpful knowledge from several of the posts I've read & look forward to more. I am currently working on a non-fiction Christian book & will start the process of finding an agent soon. Miralee

You fit simply great in our creel; mighty proud you came along. Where would you like for your literary agent to be located and what genre should he/she prefer to handle?
We will help you in any way we can.

Welcome Sea Star, so glad you "stumbled" upon us. We are the richer for it! Hope to hear lots from you. I want to give you a couple of links for that agent search.
This link is to check out agents and make sure they are legit and not preditors.

This is the home page to AAR, an organization which sort of sets the standards. They have some listings and info I hope you'll find helpful.

This site is also helpful in avoiding preditors.

Finding an agent is sort of like finding the right specialist for your project, plus finding someone you can trust and work with in a comfortable relationship. May God bless your search.

Thank you for the welcome! I am currently investigating Desert Rose literary agency as well as St. Literary Agency, both online. I am also considering the two different places online where you can pay aprox. $80. to post your manuscript or summary & various publishers will take a look at it. I looked at a few web sites of some of the bigger Christian publishing houses that require an agent. A couple of them suggested posting there as they have staff that checks those sites out on a regular basis.
I believe my book will target mostly women, altho men could benefit from it too. If anyone is interested, I can post a one paragraph 'intro' to give you an idea of what it is comprised of. Thanks again for the response, I'm looking forward to taking part in this group! God bless, Miralee

I so appreciate the web site links you sent, thank you! I will have time tomorrow (& my brain won't be quite so fuzzy) after bible study to check them out. I do want to be sure to avoid any scam type agents that aren't legit. I am still working on my book & just beginning to think about agents. Quite frankly, this is all very new to me. I truly believe the Lord has told me to write this story & have had wonderful feedback from the few people who have been sweet enough to read it so far. It's been rattling around in me for quite some time now & I've just felt released to do something with it. I am completely new to the writing world so have MUCH to learn. I will appreciate all the input anyone cares to give, thank you again, Blessings to all, Miralee
