Hey guys, this is my first post. I just thought I'd send my prayers, thoughts, and condolences to the Catholic people of this great Earth. I myself am not Catholic, but I will keep the Pope and all Catholics in my prayers. :)

Thanks for the welcoming, I am just about to leave for San Diego, for my Spring Break. So I will not be posting on here for about a week, so I am just on here for this morning, then I will be leaving, so don't expect much from me for a while...

Yes, Pope John Paul II seemed like a wonderful man. Although I'm not Catholic, I have great respect for him as a person, plus for his stand on moral issues. May he rest in peace.

As I was outside in the beautiful sunshine doing a little bit of gardening and considering the passing of Pope John Paul II it came to my mind that it really was a lovely day to die. A little later I considered that it was also a really lovely day to be alive.

Would I have thought so if I was on the East coast with all of the rain or in the Northwest, then I'm not so sure. And in Rome it was in the stillness of evening. Such thoughts are a bother for sure. I rather think of such a meek and wise man going on to be with the Lord on the beautiful Spring day that I had the opportunity to enjoy. Life indeed is fleeting.

The Lord impressed in my spirit that He would say to our fellow laborer in Christ, "Well done my son. Welcome home."

Pope John Paul II, you will be sorely missed.

I pray for the Catholic people.
Pope John Paul II was a great person. No matter how sick he got he still served God in anyway he could.

I personally don't see the big deal about the Pope. I'm sure this wasn't his intent, but too many people seem to basically worship the Pope and Jesus is given second place (or third if you include their devotion to Mary who was greatly blessed by God, but a sinful being like all but God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The pope did some great things for the Christian faith but I think we need to fix our eyes on Jesus. The pope was an instrument of Christ, not God himself.

I too pray for those in the Roman Catholic Church but not because of their lose but because of the bondage. The Catholic Chruch is full of peganism. It is fulled with lies. It is filled with sins that the Bible speaks agaist. They call Mary an advocate with the father when the Bible says that only Jesus Christ is our advocate. They pray to angles and dead people when the Bible says that we should pray and worship God only. The Catholic Chruch is NOT a Christian Church but stems from Baal worship. Put some studying into it.

There are believers within the Catholic church, just like there are believers within the protestant church. There are also plenty of wolves in both places. Being a Christian isn't a matter of what sect or denomination you belong to; it's a matter of accepting Christ as your personal Lord and savior. Without that, all of us are lost.

The Pope was a good man, and overcame great obstacles and opposition to do the right thing on many, many issues. He does deserve our respect in that regard, if nothing else. And while Christians have many in-house debates, we still need to treat one another with dignity and respect.

But yes, the focus does need to stay on Christ, alone. !thumbsup!

Just a reminder, CW.com isn't a forum for theological debates. Anyone wishing to debate the virtues of one belief/denomination over another is welcome to do so at a website set up for that purpose:
