I just finished this Saturday night.

I'm really going to have a hard time finding another book that can compare to this one. While there are some obvious flaws and the author uses some pet phrases I would have edited out, I can overlook the minor issues I have with the book because of the overwhelming sense of wonderment I was left with.

I explained it to a friend: Other books I might have raved about were just crushes. This is like the day I met Phil and kissed him and knew in my soul that I'd never have another man in my life.

I read The Time Traveler's Wife about a year ago, and I agree it was definitely an eye-poppingly well written tale. Beyond anything else, I think it was the fluidity of the narrative that most impressed me. Niffenburger wove two narrators and a huge timeline into a seamless tale. I loved it. :)

I read The Time Travelers Wife last year also and found the plot riveting because of that whole thing about taking a well-worn story idea and making it into something new. What a great twist ont he whole time travel thing.

I agree that it was a great twist on the time travel theme, but it was so much more, don't you think?

The implications of the story, the love, the reality of it. Maybe that's the most interesting thing is that I know it didn't/couldn't happen, but I feel like it did. And it broke my heart.
