I read this article this morning and thought everyone would find it interesting. I'm thinking it probably goes here, though it could just as easily fit into the politics discussion... It's about a guy who was raised in a family that had connections to Hamas and he converted to Christianity and now lives in the states!

righter1 - Very interesting article. I have had a Turkish couple in one of the classes I teach for the past three years. Between the language, heavily accented, and cultural barriers it is quite a challenge. He is a very well known business owner here now. She studied in a very well known Catholic University in Rome.
I recognized both the cultural and language differences as I read the article. Sometimes I ask God; why me? It can be very frustrating to teach 'Christianese' to someone who does not understand the nuances of english as we speak it. Early on the most asked question was; What does that mean? Probably the hardest question was; What is the most important thing in Christianity? She quit coming to class after she had asked at a small group meeting whether or not her father was in hell after recieving the last rights from a Priest. One of those attending said yes. Wrong answer!!! Because no one on this earth really knows. Right answer; I don't know. Why do we sometimes shoot our own wounded?
