I'm really not sure I COMPLETELY understood what you meant by crossing over (in music it implies something wholly different!) but as a Christian writer I believe that I should not write Aesop's fables! Meaning, I shouldn't preach at my readers. I want my message to be heartfelt and I want it to be APART of the story and not ALL of it! If I am only writing a sermon, why not just show my pastor? :) He may want to borrow the idea for his next sermon, but I sincerely doubt a young person would enjoy it!

Cross over is a literary term, that's all. It means Christian writers publishing their books with seqular publishing companies, instead of strickly sticking to a Christian publisher and having their books only in Christian bookstores.

I do not know who came up with the term.
