I thought it'd be neat to start a thread where we list all the names of God.
Rules:
1) You can only post one name at a time and no posting twice in a row.
2) Names don't necessarily have to be listed in the Bible but they must accurately reflect God and/or His attributes.
I'll go first. He's the...
Shepherd of His Sheep.

Great idea KS. I thought I'd add a scriptural reference too. :)

Ex. 15:26 Masoretic Text (Hebrew)...
"And he said, If you carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and you do what is right in His eyes, and you give ear to His commandments, and keep His statutes, I will not put on you all the diseases which I have put on Egypt; for I am Jehovah your healer."

The Hebrew word is rapha. I think ropheka is a form of the word.

Okay. I guess they might be different forms. Rapha is the one I'm most familiar with.

Ropheka is only occasionally used and I think, but not sure, only in the King James version.

Elohim, God - Mighty God or supreme God with reference to God’s faithfulness, The Creator, Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 10:17
I recently posted the names of God on one of my blogs ... I loved gathering up all His names ... it was an encouragement.
Great idea.

Okay. I'm going to take a liberty here and post two together because they are actually one in the same. And besides, they're both on my favorites list...
Jehovah-shammah, the Lord is present or there. Jehovah-shammah is now with His people - personally, as Matthew quoting prophecy said, “‘They shall call His name Immanuel,’ translated as, ‘God with us.’” (Matt. 1:23 NKJV)

lawi-I've always loved that verse. Many--including me--believe that verse is why our country should be an allie to Israel and help protect her. You know, I like to shop in a town some miles from Baltimore City where there are many people from different countries and faiths; many jewish people live and shop in that area. Every time I see some of them in the store I am reminded that even though they rejected His son (and not all rejected His son of course) He loves them. So much so that He has foretold that there will be many that are saved in end times. And God IS a mighty warrior. These days people want to diminish God to a semitransparent God, or a genie God, or they say God is love. Well God IS love, but there's so much more to God. He is a mighty warrior, and one day when He returns it won't be in the form of Suffering Servant but Mighty Warrior, leading the charge of angels and saints, with Gabriel by His side. What a day that will be!!
I think Suffering Servant has been mentioned though. 99

kshsj777- did you create the ubuntu websites? If you did, WOW!
I am taking a Layout Production and Design class this fall along with writing short stories. In the SPRING though, I am taking a web design class (along with writing the novel). I know I know, I could--should have a website now. Don't know why I don't. My oldest sister always says I will do (whatever) when I'm ready. Guess I'm not ready yet. I have plenty to put up there though. ?
