Remember that moment when you knew that you knew that you knew that God had called and gifted you to be a writer? Recollection of those memories is a powerful weapon against the powers of darkness! Share your story of God's calling...and dispel those voices of evil that speak doubt into your heart!

Wow, I have to think about this one. I don't know if I remember when I was called to write. I've been writing since I was about eight. I put it down for a long time and then had my stint as a horror writer. Looking back I think about what made perfect sense to write for a horror story, now it's like...eewwww...I wrote that? When you come to love Jesus it's a whole new world....

I first became interested in writing in 5th grade, when a friend with a movie camera and a passion for directing wanted to make a movie one night. He was three or four years older than me and had always had a thing for screenwriting. He probably had a dozen books on the subject. He had the genisis of the story, I fleshed it out. Then I showed him a comic book I was trying to draw based off the characters from the movie Hook and he said something about me having a talent for coming up with good stories. I went home, started writing down the story we came up with for his movie, and I've been writing ever since.

I wrote to survive my childhood. After being molested and abused both physically and emotionally, I found the pen to be the key to escape for me. I didn't realize then that God had chosen me to write. I thought it was a way to say the words that fear held captive in my mouth.

Today, I write to Praise Him for His wonderful mercy and grace. Now I know it is a gift, a beautiful gift, to be able to write His praise. !thumbsup! :D :)

Wow! When I think of the many who take their victimization and turn it on others, I find your solution and therapy quite wise, refreshing and a blessing. I was prompted to pray for you on the spot. I don't know your story or your circumstances, but God does and that's all you really need.

Writing is not just an outlet for talent. It is an outpouring of what God puts in your heart. And from your heart, come your thoughts. Writing should have purpose and definition and it should always awaken something in the reader, whether it be joy, fear, compassion, sorrow or an awakening wisdom that comes from the new knowledge that you have just read......like the story of why someone writes......
