cutbacks

I just got a call from my school's principal and (I guess because of the economy) school enrollment is way down. They have had to cut back about 6 positions. Last year was my first year so I am one of these who may lose my job. The principal may have to go into the classroom and teach (as well as be a principal) if we don't get at least 15 more students. For every 15 students she can add another teacher, I think.

Anyway, she told me she wants to hire me to teach HS English if she can, but that she advised me to look for a job, just in case, because of the way things are right now.

Any of you who have looked for a job teaching know that you start job hunting during spring break. This isn't a good time at all to start looking--so please pray that I find a job and soon.

I really felt, from the moment I got on that campus a year ago, that that was where God wanted me. That is why I feel so confused. I really feel that God wants me there. Sigh!

It's a very insecure time just about everywhere and to have this dropped in your lap must be very difficult.

I knew I could count on all of you. As I told my principal, I have the mortgage covered for this month and next month.

My son said, this might mean I will have to depend on him--and he doesn't ever have any money.

I have been doing some summer work for Sylvan Learning Center and the manager said that this fall he can offer me some work helping students with homework at the YMCA. That's only 3 hours a day and he doesn't know how many days a week, but it could help a little in a pinch.

This would be a good time to sell that WIP!

Toni, I'm praying right now for your sleep at night to be deep and undisturbed. I've gone through a couple of long summers when my husband needed a teaching job. There's time yet... and you need *time* to work on getting that WIP sold, eh?

Heavenly Father,

We thank you that you have known us even before we were born and that you have laid a plan out for our lives. Lord, I thank you that, as this woman, your beloved child, finds herself in this pinch, you will lead her through it with victory. I pray for Your Spirit to guide her in Your Will for her life as she searches for a job for this coming Fall and that You will continue to bless her for eternity.
