I am always amazed at how Holy Spirit breathes through God's Word, bringing it to life for us. Not only can He lead you to precisely the scripture that answers the questions in your heart, He can make the Word personal...applying specifically to you and your life and your destiny.
This thread is to share these incredible Spirit-breathed Words. What Scriptures has Holy Spirit quickened to you that encourage you in your ministry of writing?

Matt. 16:33!
I love this verse! '.....These things have I spoken unto to you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world! That is so cool!

I don't know if it's that verse...or one of the many like it....but the Greek word about "being of good cheer"....is a word picture that basically means to dance and spin and jump up and down in excitement. Wow...I've got a ways to go on that one! :D

And I see I totally misunderstood the point of this topic.
To contribute something more worthwhile, my most inspirational verse is the one in Habakkuk where God tells him to write the vision and make it plain enough that the runners can see it:
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2,3 KJV

Excellent writer's verse, Bill! 'Write the vision and make it plain...' Sort of a writer's job in a nutshell. we may not be writing scripture, but when you consider that the act of reading really requires you to turn your sould over to someone else for the duration of the read, then having a Christian mind behind those words on the page becomes all important. May our words plainly be a glory to God.

Therefore I will allure her and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. (Hosea 2:14)
I like the concept of the desert because it the essence of being alone, dry, and relying on God to bring you through.
I have heard this verse just a bit different and I like this version better but I don't know what translation it was in.
"Therefore I will lure her into the desert and there I will speak to her heart."
Hosea 2:14

There are so many verses that leap to mind. However these are the strongest for me. In my heart I believe every word I write is my way of sharing the good news.
Isa 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace;that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation;that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
and
Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
In my opinion, publishing the good news is the highest calling. It does not matter how you spread the word, as long as you share it in some way. Preachers climb into the pulpit and preach, singers sing, and writers write, but it is all the same gospel.
Singers... sing on
Preachers...preach on
Writers....write on
In any way you can, publish the good news! !thumbsup!

I suspect many of you have your doubts from time to time (given the response on the "doubt" thread) as do I. At our prayer meeting last night, we were talking about asking God to show his will and when he does, we somethimes second guess. The thought came to me that we are not alone when that happens. Many of God's chosen in the scripture did just that and one of the most famous comes to mind--John the Baptist. He knew from his mother's womb that Jesus was the promised Messiah and yet in prison, he sent word to ask Jesus if he was the one promised or were they to look for another. (Matt. 11: 1-5) Jesus' reply was one of encouragement, not rebuke. He simply assured John that he didn't "miss the mark" and get it wrong. He validated John and reaffirmed his ministry and calling and that he's fulfilled his purpose. Somehow I find that very encouraging.
For myself, I sometimes need God to reaffirm my calling to write. And when he does, joy rises within me and I find new strength and hope.

I do not really know how unique the scripture is to people, but I have this book as a companion. just relevant in many situation: examination, confrontations and circumstances. I beleive there is no one place that minister more than others. yet i know that there are some, the mysteries we cannot fathom at the moment. I love Gen 1:1-3. that speak about the nature of every beginning. I love psalm 18 20 - when i wanted to learn music and there was no teachers nor materials to do that. I came across luke 5:1-10 in year two in the university, and greatily it was a blessing. Juges 9:1-4 has been a great blessing which inspired me so much that it doesn't matter what surrounds my birth or that of others, there is a height i can reach in God. Ex 14:10-15, has been used several times to prompt my cold feet to imitate the steps of faith. Rev 4:3 shows me that after every seems exploit there is alway a call to higher land for some greater revelations. and I know there are many of the scriptural verses which the light and power I've not seen just because the Lord has not decided to commit it to use. It is indeed impossible to explore all of God in the scripture, Eternity cannot do that also.
I cherish this wonders in the world, By this, the picture of unseen God has been made known clearer and better.
I love this treasure!

For me, I have a much simpler verse:
"Be still and know I am God" I don't remember the place...
But, to me this translates to "Shut up, stop worrying, and take comfort in the knowledge that I am greater and more powerful than you can ever imagine."
