Please move this to where it needs to go...I wasn't sure where to post it. As writers seeking publication, we need to be aware of the current trends and happenings in bookselling -- things that can affect our future sales, so I thought perhaps the Writers' Lounge might be the place for it....

I think all of us are aware of the recent amazon/Booksurge heavy-handed tactics toward POD and self-publishers and the consequent anti-trust lawsuit Booklocker is bringing against amazon. Well, a UK publisher, Hachett Livre UK, claims amazon is bringing pressure on them to take more profits. You can read the story here:

Rats. I sometimes can only find certain books through Amazon! Now I feel compelled to join the strike and not purchase books from there until they get their act together...

(Which also brings me to wonder--do we still have the Amazon.com link to purchase books through CW.com????)
