That poll on the front page got me thinking a bit. I actually use the background noise to help me right. I have the music playing in a pattern of high energy/happy music to low energy/solemn. It's actually helped me churn out some good scenes when I do this. Anyone else do this or had this experience?

I don't purposely manipulate my music to match my writing, but I do know that I tend to write faster (although not necessarily better  ) when I'm listening to something high-octane.

For me, the music I listen to while writing has to be music that creates certain emotions in me -- and that music will be different depending on which story I'm working on.

I often have Law and Order playing in the background. Because of the tinnitus and lately its really going at it, I like to have something going all the time.

It is a ringing of the ears that never goes away, some times it fades into the background. But a lot of times like today it is really standing out there being a little pain. I can hear it over a lot of things and today it sounds like it's coming out of the left ear more than the right.

the weather can make it worse, the pressure from the change in weather. my dad has it really bad, he can hold a razor to the side of his head and he says it is louder than the razor. the lord has healed me to be used to it for this I'm very thankful. It can be a real strain it all but cause me to have a breakdown for the first year i had it. but the lord healed me so now I'm able to live with it.

It comes from being around noisy backgrounds. Like a coal mines, or heavy equipment. there is nothing the doc's can do to fix it.

so please when you are shooting, or mowing the grass, or even blow drying your hair or sweeping you should wear ear plugs. You will wish to high heaven you had if you ever get this crazy disease.
