More of 2012. Interesting comments follow the article.
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, June 23 (UPI) -- Thousands of people in the Netherlands say they expect the world to end in 2012, and many say they are taking precautions to prepare for the apocalypse. The Dutch-language de Volkskrant (http://www.upi.com/topic/de_Volkskrant/) newspaper said it spoke to thousands of believers in the impending end of civilization, and while theories on the supposed catastrophe varied, most tied the 2012 date to the end of the Mayan calendar, Radio Netherlands reported Monday.

I'm going to refrain from commenting to much on this, but I will say this. The end of the world is going to come. End of discussion. Only God knows when and how that is going to happen. The only way to prepare is to make sure you soul is right with the Lord. The Lord will take care of the rest. There is no point in getting into a tizzy and fretting over it. That will just give a person ulcers that is not needed or wanted.

Good night! It's Y2K all over again!
The Lord may not come back in 2012, but the rest of you are right. He will come back. And it doesn't take stockpiling food and supplies to get ready for Him, Praise Jesus!

Amen to all the comments! Time is short no matter what - this life is but a vapor or like that little flower that springs up but soon fades and is gone. I'm ready whenever He calls :).

Yes, the Mayans were so well known for their accuracy. <she said sarcastically>

Amen!
Don't know who Rod Serling is. Is he the narrator of X-files or something? If you took all the evolution out of X-files, it'd be cool... but then again that's true of almost any other sci-fi piece...

GENERATION GAP ALERT!!!!
As a true Sci-fi geek, you must check out the master--Rod Serling--the narrator of The Twilight Zone. I'm talking about from the 1960s, not the newer version--Although there is an updated version of The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street in the new version, where aliens from the old version are replaced by terrorist in the new version and the story is just as powerful.
--But I digress.

Well unfortunately for me, I do not have cable. So I've only seen the Twilight Zone once.
And you're right about the generation gap. :)

If you go to cbs dot com, you can watch a whole bunch of the original Twilight Zone eps online, and for free. I did, and it's great! Yowza!!
