Our friend Alan's newly built house was struck by lightening yesterday afternoon. It fried all the electrical and caught the attic on fire. They were able to put out the fire and are now faced with making all kinds of repairs to his home. My husband is going over this evening to help assess the damage and hopefully make a few repairs. Currently they only have enough electricity to run the fridge and freezer. As far as I know nobody was hurt. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. I'll keep you updated as I find out more.

Hi Mouse
That can happen so easy, over here in new zealand , last year a man was riding a horse and lighting struck and the man died.
It was bad about the fire in the attic, and would off been such a shock to all concern, but lucky no one died.
I will pray for the family .

Thank you Lynn, Michael, and Seagirl.
They were able to restore power. The damage wasn't near as bad as it could have been and yes Seagirl they are very lucky no one died. From what I understand the lightening fingered out and hit several spots causing fires in different spots. They had to tear out the part of the ceiling in the living room. Some wiring was melted. Computer was toasted. When the firemen were going through the attic to make sure all the fires were out the fell through the ceiling over the garage twice, but again no one was hurt. Although the oldest son's bike was broken in one of the falls. I think that's about it. The insurance guy will be checking with them in the next day or two. They are indeed very fortunate. Praise God it wasn't worse.
Thanks again for the prayers. God bless you all.
