Hello everyone,

By request, I've decided to start an "Encouragement for Writers" forum here at CW. This is a place where we can all offer scriptures, quotes, devotions, and other forms of biblical and moral support to one another.

The credit for originating this excellent idea goes to Firefeet. Thank you, Firefeet! :D I'd also like to thank each of you who voted and voiced your support for the idea. It's your feedback which makes this site work! ;)

God bless,
Rebecca

From Psalm 37..these verses just stood out to me today....

4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

The other day I picked up a book called " Within heavens Gates" by Rebecca Springer. It's the story of a woman who died, went to heaven and returned. I'm not sure I understand everything she wrote but as I read I wondered, "what would it be like if there were no books."

what if no one wrote?
************************************************** *******

I love to hold a book while sipping a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate! Yes, and to read while resting in a recliner on a rainy day. :)

But what if no one wrote?

When we read, we can escape to worlds unseen, and never leave the comforts of home. We can be right there on dusty streets in Jerusalem, watching Jesus open blind eyes. We can walk golden streets, and hear angels sing. We can move out of our present, into another place if a writer can put it on paper.
************************************************** ****
Who knows which one of us will be the one to share the story, but I do know that we need to write. Write the truth, write the tale, write the smile, write the tears.

To write is to move inspiration from the heart to the page!

Thank God some one had to write!

Justonevoice timidly visits the dark forum, looking for someone, anyone who will dispel the darkness and allow the light to shine in. She listens for the sound of writing but hears nothing. Afraid and alone she retreats toward the portal her computer opened, allowing her to see this horrific view.

Once safe outside the forum, the portal closed, she sits back in her recliner waiting for the next chance to go beyond her computer screen, and peer into the dark realm of the empty forum. Just beyond the darkened window lies a world beyond her reach, a world of fantacy and reality, where legends live and write. Somewhere deep within the forum, she'll find the answer to her quest. But for now, the portal closes and she prays for the courage to return and look into the shadows just beyond the monitor. :D

With much noise and fanfare, FireFeet arrives and announces, "Never fear! FireFeet is here!"

She (politely) drags OneVoice to the table which is laid out with a lovely tea setting and sweets galore. "There you go, dearie. See, you're not alone! Have a snack."

onevoice quietly sips the tea wishing she had not suffered such a violent reaction, however the sound of typing sooths the pain as she reads the dark forums new posts.

DrRita reaches for her tattered and worn Bible and finds Matthew 5:13-16 to encourage herself, Justonevoice and anyone else. There she finds words of encouragement on being Light in a dark world and being salt in a sick world. She sees the cracks in her own self and sees the Light seeping through. She knows only transparent and cracked lamps can allow the Light to shine in the darkness and that the Light is the only hope for this dark place. Unlike those of the darkness, only the children of the Light have the truth and can shine forth that Light, not by being that Light but by carrying that Light in their cracked and transparent lamps. Be Lamps! Be cracked! Be transparent! Let the Light shine forth in the darkness and write what He has given you to write. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (Matt. 5:16) DrRita revels in His Light with the other cracked and broken lamps, joyfully praising He who has the ability to use His precious Lamps.

Hi Rebecca!

Man, Am I glad to see you back on a regular basis! I understand I missed the "return". That's what I get for not being in the "loop" anymore. You have provided encouragement to me more than you know; even though I've been "absent" from the site lately.

I'll be posting an article that actually got published in Christian Chronicles in May. I was so happy to finally have something published. And I'm about to submit another to be published.

Thanks Rebecca!
p.s. HOW is that new babe??

Love
NurseConnie

All of us have those days when we are sure we're never going to break through the publishers brick wall and burst into the ranks of "published author." We all want to have our work validated by others reading and enjoying.

If we keep on keeping on and pray that God will lead us to the right publisher, He will. It's just a matter of time. I'll be looking out for all the up-coming "I've been published" news. In the mean time we'll all keep on writing and sharing our encouragement. Blessings on you all and thanks Rebecca for starting this thread! !thumbsup!
